In a complex world, we stand ready to move further, faster, and fight harder than any other Soldier. Our mastery of the fundamentals enables us. The high standards within which we operate provide a framework to rapidly solve the Nation's most complex problems.
A day in the life is not easy. It is not comfortable. It is challenging, and it is designed that way. The challenge is simple, though, to be a better version of yourself today than you were yesterday. For your teammates, for your squad. Rising to the challenge exposes your limits so you perform your best on the hardest day of ground combat.

Its not hard to do better than the current Army image. Gay sensitivity training isnt really motivating for someone who wants to be a warrior. Young men who want to be infantry, ranger, SF dont respond well to weak Emma and her two moms.

@@ballislife9834 Their current missions are different from ours in the 1970s, we primarily operated behind lines, like the LLRPs from Vietnam; i.e. raids, recons, ambushes, etc. We began training with Blue Light Task Force in 1977(?) for hostage rescue ops and didn't get into airport take downs until 1980, but I was leaving by then.

I grew up in the projects of the poorest city in Pennsylvania Johnstown. I did not go into the military however my best friend Peter Scaglions dad was a Ranger.... I'm not sure when or where, however Peter would always tell one or two cool stories that his father shared with him. Peter lived in Ebensburg PA which is rural and country.. always use to fish small mouth at his lake. Peter would tell me stories of how his dad drudged and built this lake in his yard, it was over 3/4 mile lake. Peninsula. It was a dream for me coming from my surroundings. Not only was Peter a great friend but his dad NEVER spoke. And when he did it was usually with a mean look on his face and not so pleasant tone... I was always surprised that his father was a Ranger simply because he wasn't taller than 5.4 at best. However the way he patrolled the lake looking beavers I knew😂. He would detonate some sort of explosives while me and Peter would be fishing🎣 you'd just about to land a hog on the paddle boat when all you would hear is a loud Boom 💥... followed by Peter's dad riding past with a big Ole smile 😅.... I miss that old man

Recognizing that I volunteered as a Ranger, fully knowing the hazards of my chosen profession, I will always endeavor to uphold the prestige, honor, and high esprit de corps of the Rangers. Acknowledging the fact that a Ranger is a more elite Soldier who arrives at the cutting edge of battle by land, sea, or air, I accept the fact that as a Ranger my country expects me to move further, faster and fight harder than any other Soldier. Never shall I fail my comrades. I will always keep myself mentally alert, physically strong and morally straight and I will shoulder more than my share of the task whatever it may be, one-hundred-percent and then some. Gallantly will I show the world that I am a specially selected and well-trained Soldier. My courtesy to superior officers, neatness of dress and care of equipment shall set the example for others to follow. Energetically will I meet the enemies of my country. I shall defeat them on the field of battle for I am better trained and will fight with all my might. Surrender is not a Ranger word. I will never leave a fallen comrade to fall into the hands of the enemy and under no circumstances will I ever embarrass my country. Readily will I display the intestinal fortitude required to fight on to the Ranger objective and complete the mission though I be the lone survivor. Rangers lead the way
