Is there any truth to the claim that the Islamic faith comes from Nestorianism and Arianism?

@@Big_Steve11 even though they hold very similar beliefs? And even though Nestorianism and Arianism predate Islam? And even though those discarded heresies made their way to Arabia prior to Islam? And even though a church father specifically said that Islam was Arianism? I think there’s more evidence to the fact that Islam comes from a discarded Catholic heresy

@@carolinafine8050 From my reading it seems that those heresies probably did have an influence on the formation of Islam. Its origins are not clear and we're not even sure if Mohammed existed!

@@tomforde6696thanks for the reply. It makes so much sense that there would be some deep connections between the two

The HUBIRS of it all... As if Jesus-Christ needed us to defend Him?!? It's the other way around: Jesus-Christ won for us on the Cross the Holy Spirit who was sent to the Apostles on Pentacost and who dwells within us - THAT is what makes us GOOD and, therefore, CAPABLE of loving God, ourselves and our neighbor! Are you sure you're not still under the influence of Luther? The version of 'Christianity' you're outlining here is merely Lutheranism with a twist: we 'fight for Jesus' who paid the price for our sins and now we 'try' to be good out of gratitude with a little 'help' from God when we need it and if we fail, well, there's always the Sacrament of Penance. In practifal terms, what this means is going back week after week, accusing yourself of the same old sins and making no progress to speak of for years - I should know: I've been there. You'e completely ignoring the intermediate stage of RECEIVING the Holy Ghost in the Sacrament of Confirmation: THAT is what makes us GOOD and CAPABLE of Love - not 'righteous' anger to defend Jesus.
