JJ speaks so crazy fast. Just blew me away. Her mom is also unbelievable that she can speak, even some Cantonese. When the East and the West can blend like this, it just feels so warm inside. Much respect to you both 🙏

It is, but it's not common for a total stranger to offer to pay a bill. The gentleman clearly was looking for something in return (which isn't a bad thing of course; exchanging favors is a normal part of the culture).

Hokkien (福建话) and Minnan are the same dialect. Both came from Fujian. In South East Asia, the dialect is known as Hokkien whereas in Taiwan, it is known as Minnan. It's a difference in the name.

6:49 when that man said "没问题-英文,普通话,广东话-我们都可以“, it reminded me of how amazing immigrants are, they already have to deal with so many obstacles coming to America and somehow all of them have managed to learn 2 or more languages. There are too many Americans that are unwilling to learn another language. Americans need to start learning more than one language or else they will continue missing out on these beautiful interactions.
This movie is very interesting and unique, support.

If you had taken the N train from the 8th Avenue N train station here in the Sunset Park Chinatown to the 18th Avenue N train station or Bay Parkway N train station, you could have been able to check out these two other Brooklyn Chinatowns of Bensonhurst as well, but as I commented in one of your recent videos, the 86th Street Chinatown between 18th to 25th Avenues under the D train stations, which is the third Chinatown of Bensonhurst is the one I would recommend even more so as it is more diversely vibrant and has better quality choices of eateries and stores selling various products and don't forget the giant Jmart supermarket at New Utrecht Avenue and 81st Street near the 18th Ave D train station. There is also another small Chinatown in Sheepshead Bay right at the Q train station at Avenue U, which I never mentioned. As commented from your recent videos, the Bensonhurst's split up Chinatowns are mostly Cantonese speaking as well as the Sheepshead Bay Chinatown is also mostly Cantonese.

Why do you say 仙草 but the translation says 凉粉? I am just curious. I always thought xian cao were the black jelly cubes while liang fen is the more opaque version made from the same thing, but I am not totally sure.
