The brown marmorated stinkbug is an invasive species originally from Asia. A threat to agriculture and a nuisance to homeowners, this pest has devastated fruit and vegetable crops throughout the mid-Atlantic United States. Researchers are teaming up with growers to study the stinkbug's biology and behavior to find effective ways to control its numbers.

This comment is so underrated. Spitting facts. I was eating spinach just now until I was about to chew and felt this weird hard texture with my tongue took it out of my mouth saw it had eyes freaked me the fk out my entire dinner went flying. I’m still so mortified and disgusted I ran my tongue across the underside of this stupid bug

Jails have everything including lice, roaches, bedbugs and let's not forget Athlete's foot. Always pee on your feet in the shower in jail. You see all that from people being dragged in from god knows what squaller. After trial when you are sent upstate to Prison you'll be better off. They put you through a sanitary ringer upon arriving at intake. Isolated showers, delousing, mandatory buzz cut for everybody with things found crawling in their hair, fresh clothing, health screenings, etc... Before that happens I recommend spraying Permetherin all over the ouside of the house paying attention to all entrances, windows, soffit, vents, crawlspace, basement, attic etc. It's not perfect but it helps. I use about a gallon per application with a garden sprayer on my 2,000 sq ft single story house. I'm pretty sure it gets rid of them. The problem is 3 months down the line when the stuff wears off new ones wonder in. I wish somebody would engineer a virus that only killed stinkbugs! Maybe not, that could cause the next AIDS.

The chemical that stink bugs release is a type of aldehyde. It's similar in composition to aldehydes found in cilantro. Some people lack the genes necessary to smell or taste aldehydes. Most people can detect aldehydes, which is why a lot of people can't stand the taste of cilantro. Likewise, they can't stand the smell of a stink bug. So, you're lucky.

Found a cluster of little white eggs on my potted muscadine grape. Took a close-up picture and noticed a little black fly-looking insect crawling around on them. Did some research, identified black bug as Trissolcus japonicus (Samurai Wasp), eggs APPEAR to be brown marmorated stink bug eggs, and the eggs have apparently been parasitized *fist pump!* and eaten by wasp larvae. I guess wasps aren't simply terrible insects full of poison and hatred. :)

They were coming through my window-mounted air conditioner. Changing to a tower air conditioner, where I can reinstall the screen, has fixed my particular problem.

Once you recognize the smell that they emit, you learn to hate the smell.

I wonder how far they’ve gotten in 6 years cause I’ve probably vacuumed up 200 or more in the last 2 days….

@@blake102989 LOL Oh I know, they are EVERYWHERE!! What I meant by that previous comment was I wonder how far the researchers have gotten in a way to control the bugs😉

You tube, you have read my mind! No google searches on my part, nothing, and this shows up in my recommended feed lol. I keep finding these in my house in SE Michigan and have been inhaling them with my shop vac (which I use on all creepy insects in the house). I keep worrying I will step on one and get the stink on!

I want to make a correction to the stink bug story I'm almost 60 years old and I'm originally from the DC area and I can tell you in the sixties we had stink bugs in Maryland this woman says they were introduced in the 90s that's wrong they've been here a lot longer than that

Accidentally introduced? What does that mean?

James Prince they must have come in over a ship or something and repopulated in America. They’re not native to here, meaning they’re not supposed to be here because there’s nothing to eat them and keep the population down.

James Prince It means Chemtrail planes sprayed them down on us. Just look up on a clear day and you see those airplanes drawing lines across the sky.

One thing I had discovered about this family of beetle, is that they’re all stink bugs. I originally had thought only these particular insects of the family actually called “stink bugs” produced a smell. Other insects of the same family, such as the Conifer Seed Bug also produce a smell when threatened. If some do not know. Pretty interesting
