It amazes me that you two can figure out how to fix all your equipment. It seems like you also have every piece of equipment that you will ever need. You two are great farmers. I love watching your videos. I’m not a farmer. Just a 75 year old lady who is retired. Although I walk a few miles a day and line dance twice a week. I drove a tractor twice in my life. I also drove a swather once in college. I couldn’t even drive a straight line of wheat. It was a brand new machine and it was hard to go straight. You two work harder than anyone I know. Good job fellows

Brian! For your consideration,,,, when I was a youngster starting out on my own, I used my Dad’s planter. Once it got to the point where we barely had enough time to get everything planted, and! Wearing his planter out in the process, he had a suggestion. After planting was over he told me, you should get your own/our planter. Maybe it’s time Cole helped invest in a newish 24 row?

Thanks for another great video Cole and Brian. It was interesting and informative and enjoyable. Those seed belts on the Deere planters are so important. Not super bad to replace but so expensive. You mentioned around $450 Each. Times 16 rows gets real expensive. Good to see Sonny again. He is really growing bigger all the time. Cute fellow. Your feed lot always looks good when you run the scraper over it. Thanks for the drone footage. Always looks good from the air and you can see your work with the tillage equipment and how the planter is doing. Good going on with The drone Cole. Busy time getting finished with planting. Like that roller you have on demo. Nice piece of equipment. Worth the cost. Cole you mentioned Iowa soil verus your soil and you are right, our soil does not have the rock content to that you have. We never had a roller. Did not need one. Interesting difference in soil content. About it I guess. Take care and be safe. The Iowa farm boy. Steve. PS. Thanks to Uncle Jeff for bringing the parts from town and back to the farm. Good to see him. Thanks Jeff.

Our Farmstead was never hooked up to County Water, & that water tank is the only way the cistern can get filled. We only use that water for flushing toilet tho'. Hey Coel, a simple, high protein healthy dessert for Brain or anyone would be full fat plain Greek yogurt, granola, toasted almonds and honey. Maybe add fruit if you like. Blueberries, strawberries or whatever you like. Peaches are also good, portion the ingredients as you like. I do mostly the yogurt, almost as much granola, then almonds, the drizzle honey over it. If it is going to be awhile before you eat it, keep the granola and yogurt separately and add the granola just before you eat it otherwise the granola will get soggy. CRUNCH is everything. Sometimes I'll do honey vanilla yogurt but that can be too sweet. Whatever you like. Very easy. Maybe throw in a STROOP WAFFLE.
@KellysAdventures3057 ай бұрын
You have lots of brush belts on your planter. If they all are the same age, they all are gonna go soon. If you can, get enough to change out at least half. Inspect the rest of them and change out all the ones that are close to going. Have the other half in hand for next season. Can you order them by mail? Bulk discount? Just a suggestion from a very small farmer that plants by hand. 👩🌾

I wonder what they would say if you went to like a “Mikes Car Wash” that could be interesting. They always seam to frown when I drive in with my Farm Pickup. Which is always a little soiled. The best part is when the say “ you need to remove the trash from your bed”. I tell them “believe me if anything blows out I will pay any damage. All I want is the first layer off so we can have a clean windshield also what color is this one”. Usually it takes 3 trips before I OK the wash and dry. It is so funny 🤣 😊

Do you see a yield increase where you do tillage? Just wondering if it improves the seed bed so it’s not so hard.
