I was a Kenworth guy til 4 months ago when I started with a new company and got a 23’ Volvo VNL 860. Absolutely love my Volvo. I can’t wait to get the next gen VNL in 3 years or so when my 23 is due for trade New VNL looks pretty sweet inside and outside. Definitely take it over a T680, 579, Cascadia and definitely over internationals garbage.

I work in trucking insurance and out of all the makes the one with the least number of breakdowns is Volvo. I rarely hear about a Volvo in the shop. Freightliners are the ones people report breaking down the most, followed by Internationals.

I like the old style bed with the bigger table and cushions that slid. One thing about taking away that console behind the passenger seat is you lose your hanging storage. Now you can't hang up your shirts and pants and keep them nice. You forgot to mention if the steering wheel is heated, and with the price is.

The steering must have the VDS STEERING OPTION. I have it on mine. I love it. It’s an electric motor on the power steering pump. It adds 60 pounds. But worth it to me

Do you know why the fuel tanks are pushed further to the front ? The previous VNL 860 model had the fuel tanks further in the back, next to the catwalk. That extra space allowed extra room for storage ,next to the batteries. I know this model has 6 batteries instead of 4, and is a 24V system instead of a 12V

I wonder if that batter box also heats, 6 batteries id definitely wanna baby sit those seeing as how most factory batteries don’t last long. I like the swing up doors more I wish they would have kept those. I have a 2020 860 with 500hp I couldn’t imagine going down lol and I hope their 13spd autos are better than the 12 because I am not a fan with this being my first automatic it’s so clunky maybe I need to get timing adjusted or something but the low gears are rough and the high gears seem off not sure if that’s some sort of efficiency thing but it’ll downshift for a higher rpm when it’s not really needed it’s like the truck doesn’t know it has enough power for the current situation lol

Its awfully ugly! Whyyy whyyy????? I got the 16 vnl780 and nearly has double the space in cab!!! That table is half the size of mine also the seats i can fit 4 people at the table!!! The table lowers and converted into a large size bed. You could even sleep with the wife! Dash its stretched to far back on the new model totally unnecessary.
