This was when McGregor was hungry, dedicated his life to martial arts and his passion was flowing through every movement, no energy wasted. Unfortunately, he became corrupted by money, fame and power, the familiar combo that has tanked many successful fighters. It's awesome seeing this video of him just casually training at Venice beach back in 2014, next to the skateboarders, body builders and homeless people. Today, I bet he wouldn't dare go there and place himself among normal everyday people, because he is too cut off from that reality and his ego has reached heights where he may never come down from.

I feel no resentment towards any fighter's talk. Conor brings a new kind of excitement that I've missed in MMA. It was quiet for a while.... no real excitement. I like to watch Conor. I do understand where he comes from. I like his suits, the bullshit, and his whole act. I am just waiting what it will do to him when someone defeats him. Will it devastate him? Will he still be the same man IF it happens? We will see soon enough, because all good fighters lose one day, that's the way of the warrior.
@thatt-shirtguy966910 жыл бұрын
he's lost before so it doesn't really matter. like he said "cocky in prediction, confident in preparation, humble in victory or defeat."
@ikanketjil10 жыл бұрын
He lost before, but he was inexperienced at that time, younger, still learning, and all that was before the UFC hype. Losing now, that's a different ball game with his expensive Rolex, custom made suits, and what ha ye. Losing all the cash NOW, and the "fame" that he so rapidly "acquired", that will set him back in a world of hurt.... unless he invests his money for a rainy day. But he likes to flash his gadgets.... we will see if he's that smart as he pretends to be.
@thatt-shirtguy966910 жыл бұрын
Floyd Mayweather has been doing that and risking his brand for 18 years and there still isn't a blemish on his record. Not saying Conor will do the same, but who says he can't? What if he DOESN'T lose and runs through the division like he says he will? That's something to behold. I like him and wish him the best. He believes he can, and really and truly that's all that matters.
@ikanketjil10 жыл бұрын
+Adam Warlock. I agree with you. Conor was unemployed prior to the whole UFC hype. Now he's making good money. He's driven, motivated to stay on top now. Unemployment sucks, and now he's a "star", making a lot of cash, as he proudly mentions in his interviews. I hope he will do well, but eventually everybody will lose. The body is under constant pressure, so one day every single fighter will have to give in. But the guy is 26, he can fight for 10 more years, if he takes care of his body well.
@THISISLolesh10 жыл бұрын
Adam Warlock I agree but boxing is a complete different story to MMA nowadays. Mayweather has been a pro for 15+ years and only had 47 fights. When you're as good as he is and as smart as he is it's easier to stay undefeated, even at his age.. When you have that boxing IQ that the younger guys don't have e.g Bernard Hopkins you can do things these fighters can't react too. I'm not one for knocking Mayweather and I think his resume is great but he didn't fight other legends in his younger years on his ascension and we missed out on the Pacquiao fight. Even so, Mayweather has arguably lost before (Jose Luis Castillo). MMA has way too many ways to lose for someone to stay undefeated, imo..

@tomastocornal8 жыл бұрын
+Léön Kroß when you do a pullup you go straight up, but to achieve the muscle-up you have to use your arms as a lever, in order to make your body go up making a curve, does it make sense? Interesting how he was obsessed with movement back then. That was the best conor forsure, the way he moved when he beat aldo. He didnt move like that at 229

Even if he does, it'd barely make any difference cus the emotionally wrecked Aldo is nothing compared to the monster who is Khabib

What battlefield what? Mc Gregor is a stereotype, one of those that US love to have. I mean after three or four generations, you´re not Irish, believe me. Ancestors and blablabla... your ancestors were probably bakers, or carpenters, and it´s great, this kind of marketing pisses me off. I´d like to know who in the US think they are legit americans (only the natives are), but I don´t know which white people think they are the americans, I guess it´s the protestants and lutherans and that kind of ultra orthodox christians.

Idiot. One is never one is never one culture solely. We all have to learn and absorb knowledge.
@SelectCircle10 жыл бұрын
dapappacn He's the self-proclaimed world's greatest Irishman - heir to all Irish heroes of the past - carrying all of Ireland on his freckled back ... and he goes and gets a Japanese tattoo. That spells fraud - in any language. This guy's a has-been even before he makes it.
@potes422410 жыл бұрын
SelectCircle so what that's your argument? Seriously? A tattoo? That's what you guys are resorting to to hate on him? So in your logic I'm American that means I have to get an American tattoo? Please stop your embarrassing yourself. Next time at least come up with a logical reason to dislike someone.
@SelectCircle10 жыл бұрын
mike potes I spell out the logic and you ask - What's your logic? And I'm the one who should be embarrassed. ... Whew. ... In any case - and read this slowly so you get the logic - if YOU were to proclaim yourself Mr. America - and declare that you have ALL of America riding on your back - would YOU then go out and get a GIGANTIC tattoo that is in NO way connected with ANYTHING AMERICAN? All right - yes - you probably would. And moreover ... you'd probably call it logical. : )
@potes422410 жыл бұрын
You try to make this logical when it's not even close. Just because of a simple tattoo. You realize he trains in iceland? Should he only train in Ireland I mean seriously. Do you know why he got the tattoo? I didn't think so it might be sentimental to him. When has he ever said he's "mr.ireland"? Now look at Cain he walks out with a Mexican flag every fight and has a "brown pride" tattoo and he's American.

Lol... Don't get me wrong, he's good and I'm a fan. But there's no way you can back that up yet. What champion has he fought? What kind of title from a respectable organization has he defended? He has fought and dismantled a couple skilled fighters, but no one who is world class. He is great, and I love the attitude and frame of mind that he's brought to fighting, but there's no way he's the best ever...he very well could be, but that remains to be seen yet. So hold your horses for a little bit lol
@gabbar51ngh6 жыл бұрын
cingratta I totally agree with you. He is probably one of the most popular MMA fighters since nowadays memes are famous and his trash talking hypes the fight. But his track record isn't as impressive as Anderson Silva, Gsp or even Machida. He is a great striker. If he breaks Khabib's winning streak he is easily enters the same place as Gsp.

Hate him or love him (i personally thinks he's the Irish Bruce Lee), you have to respect his skills and his mastery of body movement. I just watched a Jose Aldo fight and Jose doesn't move like Conor. Just like Joe Rogan said about Conor, "either you have it or you don't and Conor just has it." Dana White must be licking his chops because Conor McGregor has $$$$ written all over him. Going to follow this guys career, should be an interesting one at the very least.
