Tell that to jon fitch, The man who was not given another title shot regardless of his big win streak and now he got knocked out, he probably will never get a title shot, all because of his style. On top of that, I can bet you, even with GSP being such a long time champ, taking out sponserships, Nate Diaz probably earns just as much as him, or even more now due to his willingness to make it a fight. MMA is a true test to show martial arts, some people get scared at that fact and don't fight.

I agree with his idea of what a real martial artist is....I hope gsp and greg jackson actually understands this someday. One thing I always hated was when Dan Hardy said exactly this, everyone hated him and said he is thuggish etc, but with Mir, oh no he is a real martial artist...No both of them are real martial artists, GSP is NOT

So why does GSP refuse to be a martial artist then? When he is in the cage he never tries to finish, he just tries to not lose. GSP was a martial artist, the word is WAS, but after matt serra, abit of his love and passion for martial arts left his soul, due to the fear of losing again. Thats when he turned into an athlete 1st, points fighter 2nd, martial arist never. Mir knows MMA is the best way to test his martial arts and treats it like a fight no matter what the cost, for that I respect him.

That is why I say, right not tank abbott is more of a martial artist now. Its like saying Jon Fitch is a martial artist because he trains mma but never trains or tries to finish. If you got in that cage and don't treat it like a fight, then I am sorry, you are stripped of your title as a martial artist, because you no longer train in martial arts, only training for a game. Only doing as much martial arts as Rugby or Baseball. Its the same with certain boxers too.

No, modern wrestling, the base of quite a few boring fighters have never been a martial art nore have been intended to be a martial art, its always considered a sport, if it was a martial art then the main thing they would of been told is effective punching form the ground, but that is not the case.

@madmike1 no . your totally incorrect and come off as incredibly ignorant. wrestling is much of a martial art as jiu jitsu, karate, or judo is. the objective is to pin your opponent in replication of actually fighting your opponent and obtaining total dominant position over him. It's the reason they dominate mma because the curriculum of their art incorporates the ideal position to pound or submit the guy. GSP is much as a martial artist as Frank.

@wuebbsco You do realize the Allah is the literal translation of God to Arabic right? So by saying you do not believe in Allah it literally means you do not believe in God. He is not a different God but the same God that you pray for. Old testament prophecies from 700 years before he was born were dead on accurate on saying how he would die, where he would be born, that he would rise again, that he would die for the sins of His people.
