This vid is awesome! Straight forward, no fancy tools, and 100% awesomeness! My bro, what's the size on these quick connectors? I mean, what's the right size to fit a sanwa button? Thank you!

Thank you, the size is .110". There should be a link to the parts I used in the description.

Question... The plastic connector that goes into the joystick (and for me the Brook UP5 Board) where did you get that?
@peepeeslayer7783
@peepeeslayer7783 4 ай бұрын
If you're talking about the cable connecting to the joystick itself, it usually comes with the joystick when bought. However if you need to buy one, they are usually 4 or 5 pin connection cables.

Great video guide, my only question is what gauge of wire are you using? The description states 30awg but your link is 22. 22 is a little thick, but way better then working with 30. 30 can be a pain as it's not as flexible. Thank you. Edit: I'm very glad I found this video because for the past few months I've been researching sticks, bought a few, returned them, and finally realized I'm too picky I need to build a stick. However, this whole time researching enclosures, and parts for the build I never looked at stranded wires. I have XP with modding on and off for years, building PC's, etc. So wanted to say thank you again. I guess it's safe to say the gauge is gonna be different then I'm used because it's more flexible?

How do you connect the wires to the plugs. Like the 5 pin plug for the lever? Does that require soldering or? Sorry just we didn't see that and just curious on how it's done since I want to make my own custom arcade stick soon.
@blue_bomber_fox5721
@blue_bomber_fox5721 2 жыл бұрын
Hello, the five pin part that goes to the lever usually comes with the Sanwa sticks. It does not require soldering and I just put a cover over the region to make it match the other wirers.

@@blue_bomber_fox5721 but how do the wires and connector actually connect? Do you just push the wires into the right pin? Or do you need to crimp a pin to the end of the wire to do that etc? Same with wiring all these buttons to the PCB do the wires just get pushed in? If so how do they hold in tight etc etc. Thank you. Noob question I'm sure but I really want to give custom wiring a go

Thank you for the video. This is exactly what I was needing to see. From your opinion, do you think seven 22 awg stranded cables could fit in a single 1/4th sleeved cable? 7 would be the max I would need.

probably a noob question but the exposed wire doesn't need to actually touch the prongs on your buttons? so as long as they are both in the quick disconnect it still works? just wondering since you have the disconnects upside down
@blue_bomber_fox5721
@blue_bomber_fox5721 4 жыл бұрын
No, as long as the wires touch the quick connects you should be fine. I put them upside down bc I like the look.
