UI3 has been pretty frustrating for me and my team. Some areas are nice, but it's causing a lot of confusion and lost time.

I've finally gotten used to it, but I preferred the contextual toolbar of the older UI. It's a shame these new updates don't solve a few longstanding issues with prototyping, like being able to easily navigate between pages. That's why I created a few tutorials for newcomers on overcoming some of these limitations.

That's pretty awesome. I'm loving these responsive features so much I've decided to create some tutorials of my own, which I hope to share in the future.

I really appreciate your efforts on making this tutorial, just wanted to point out that you could map out a variable "Variant" and values of each mode "Desktop" and "Mobile", and assign it to the property instance. this way you don't have to switch the property value each time you change the frame mode

I'd like to see Figma take this a step further by giving the option to do something similar to what Framer does using their "breakpoints" feature. In Framer, any updates I make to one breakpoint (e.g. the Desktop breakpoint) automatically updates the other breakpoints (e.g., Tablet and Mobile). This way, you really only need to create and update one screen/frame and the updates are automatically expressed at different screen sizes. This makes it much easier to keep updates in sync since, when making a change, you'd only need to update it on one screen instead of multiple. It's also much better for dev-handoff.

Thank you for this tutorial. Could you also make a video about how to make prototyping and micro-interactions in new User Interface ?

Cannot understand why "Fill container" is not in the list under height for me. Used the same file, did everything step-by-step the same, in the same order (twice, just to be sure), use UI3, but still nothing. It shows however when I select all three list items but does nothing.

It only works on child containers within a parent container. Do you have it within a parent frame?

Why don't we need a third mobile variant?
@yusi94373 ай бұрын
You could if you want to, but in this case, it wasn't necessary because the card layout from the tablet was sufficient for mobile as well.
