Hey I know it's been a year since you posted but I'm super curious, what glitches have you noticed with XD? Personally, XD is the only Adobe software I like using. Only bug I've ever had was a broken colour wheel for 1-2 patches.

I completely agree it's totally within the context of the project. A lot of tech companies, like the one I work for, use Figma for the collaboration feature, it's more of an enterprise tool. But for my own projects, I use Adobe XD (I also think it's just a better design tool and works more seamlessly with other Adobe programs).

It's not about which one is better. It's about which one is more in demand. People would buy infamous branded items for a high price (for example apple sheeps) but won't pay for better items if they are not of a famous brand. From my experience in different marketplaces, I can say that Figma is 95%+ more sought after than adobe XD. Almost every single UX projects come with Figma in the tag. I rarely see Adobe XD.

It's true that there is no big difference between them. However in this case, small things make one better than the other. I like Figma better because it's faster, align to grid is better, it has more and better plugins and because of so much more things.

It's a matter of preference. Personally though, it's all about getting that job done. Besides, it's not hard to switch between the design tools these days. They are so similar in the way that they function. Best thing is to try em out and see what works for you and stick with it.. Simple as that.. 😆

Figma communities, the open source design (github of design) feature, in my opinion, makes Figma a better tool. You can publish open source design systems and download design systems that others have created all within the Figma tool. Can Sketch and Adobe XD do open source design? Nope. Also, I work with developers everyday and none of them have Macs or Adobe CC on their computers. Figma is the only reasonable option to collaborate with them.

It's all preference, but I wouldn't recommend using it for web or mobile design. XD is built for designing and prototyping so it has features that make your workflow smoother and much quicker. I haven't had much luck with Photoshop being able to handle 50+ polished artboards well. I tend to keep my web/mobile design to XD and keep Photoshop as my "go to" for editing the content within my designs. Using CC libraries makes any back and forth between the programs super easy. Hope this helps some :)

It's about purpose. PS is, in general, for image retouch, fusion and beyond. All related to work with images (pixels). I think it worked for years, but today we have better options when we talk about prototyping (a very important step for web design). At the beginning of my career as a web designer/art director I used to work just with PS and AI. Today, I can use PS and AI integrated to XD to deliver great pieces of web design: fully navigable, with micro interactions and easy to get feedback from all steak holders (clients, marketing strategists, developers, users etc). I think you can learn both at same time, because you can use it integrated.

Yeah all I heard was writers don’t have XD (or design apps in general) and Figma has browser capability so they can view stuff via the browser version of Figma online. Why can’t the writers simply send you a word or txt file. If they need to see the content you can send them screenshots, or remote facetime with them (zoom, skype, meet, etc). I just think it’s backwards to bend over backwards to accommodate a team member, who’s not even the client, and who really doesn’t need the tool in order to do their job. But maybe I’m missing something.

Never like figma or sketch, both are just overrated. I am an adobe user ever since I learned photoshop. The good thing using Adobe XD is it seamless when working together with Photoshop and Illustrator, assuming your using Adobe Cloud of course. For web-based Figma, if you have a lagging internet connection, good luck with your work, it won't get save.

Раньше ему больше нравился Adobe XD , но сейчас он работает над Новым проектом в Figma , потому что там можно создавать общий аккаунт , чтобы разные дизайнеры работали над одним проектом . Так как у некоторых из них , нет скаченной и оплаченной версии Adobe , и это слишком тратит ресурсы , в отличии от Figma .
