The basics, always worth knowing. I find it fascinating how the proportions throughout history have changed and altered but the basics will always help you out of a tight spot. Nicely done tutorial.

I will definitely be bringing out more training packages in the future and dive even more in-depth into how to draw Comic Book Characters. In fact the next course will focus specifically on female characters and take you through the entire process of drawing, inking and coloring a full character from start to finish. -Clayton

The charts and measurement are okay but the real problem is how to implement this knowledge while drawing action figures. Do your course clearly covers how to use the proportion information to draw a character in action ? I have seen a lot of proportion lessons but all are useless because they never tell how to implement the info while drawing a complex figures.

If I'm not mistaken, this is when learning and understanding perspective comes in. Being able to understand the the proportions of the body, and how they look in a 3D space should assist in this process.

Hi Alan, Thanks for pre-ordering the Ultra Pack for Figure Drawing Foundations | Proportions. The Ultra pack was released before March 1, so it's been out for a few weeks now and you should have received your copy via e-mail. Please make sure that you've checked in the e-mail inbox you used when placing in your e-mail address during check out. Also double check that it didn't end up in your junk, or spam e-mail folders. As a final alternative you can simply go directly to Gumroad and download it from there if you've already made the purchase by following this link gumroad.com/l/oqFU. Gumroad won't charge you more than once to download it from their site. I hope this helps. Let me know how you go! Kind regards, -Clayton

This...seems wrong. I've met people with short legs, big heads, and long arms. Maybe your perspective is based on your own view of what all people look like.
@howtodrawcomicsnet
@howtodrawcomicsnet 5 жыл бұрын
Hi Michael. I've also met people of all different shapes and sizes. When it comes to teaching other people proportions, neither of our personal perspectives really matter as much as giving students a consistent set of measurements to work from. As you can see in the video we're talking about the idealized proportions of the average human being specifically. Of course variation exists, but as an artist you need a proportional base line to work off for the figure, which you can learn, then modify for variation. Otherwise you'll make learning proportions very difficult on yourself. -Clayton

Actually, they are NOT "wrong." Not everyone--if ya' haven't noticed--has a perfect COMIC BOOK body; we are all DIFFER- ENT. There are quite a number of "body types," which really BALANCE a Comic page properly, in my humble opinion.
