The charts and measurement are okay but the real problem is how to implement this knowledge while drawing action figures. Do your course clearly covers how to use the proportion information to draw a character in action ? I have seen a lot of proportion lessons but all are useless because they never tell how to implement the info while drawing a complex figures.

If I'm not mistaken, this is when learning and understanding perspective comes in. Being able to understand the the proportions of the body, and how they look in a 3D space should assist in this process.
@thebatman62016 жыл бұрын
Proportions are skewed due to foreshortening. Learn fundamentals, anatomy and THEN play around with foreshortening

Gawd why are all these comic art channels David Finch clones ? Zhcomicart, Robert Mazullo and this guy.

And why is David Finch a Bridgman clone? 😉 - Most of what you'll ever learn has it's origins. But what makes it stick is the teacher you're learning from.

This...seems wrong. I've met people with short legs, big heads, and long arms. Maybe your perspective is based on your own view of what all people look like.
@howtodrawcomicsnet5 жыл бұрын
Hi Michael. I've also met people of all different shapes and sizes. When it comes to teaching other people proportions, neither of our personal perspectives really matter as much as giving students a consistent set of measurements to work from. As you can see in the video we're talking about the idealized proportions of the average human being specifically. Of course variation exists, but as an artist you need a proportional base line to work off for the figure, which you can learn, then modify for variation. Otherwise you'll make learning proportions very difficult on yourself. -Clayton

Actually, they are NOT "wrong." Not everyone--if ya' haven't noticed--has a perfect COMIC BOOK body; we are all DIFFER- ENT. There are quite a number of "body types," which really BALANCE a Comic page properly, in my humble opinion.
@nightyonetwothree5 жыл бұрын
these 8 head proportions so wrong if you compare them to photo of real people.
