I feel like most instructors or artists I've come across always use the cross contour lines as a way to find the center mass of the face. It's interesting you're using it more as a point of perspective for the figure (which makes way more sense)! I know you wanted to focus on simplifying your art this upcoming year. Ive been studying Toth and Rude - they are the masters in simplification. If you don't already own the Toth books IDW put out, I highly recommend them for the goals you're looking to achieve. His character designs from the Hanna Barbera days are so simple and elegant. And what Steve Rude does in Nexus is otherworldly. As always thanks for the information and access to your brain! ❤
