Flaps inside the inside the nacelle move to block/reveal pathways for the air to move depending on speed. I guess you're both kinda right.

@George i'm saying that's not how ssd's work. i'm aware that sony and microsoft confirmed that solid state drives would be in their next consoles. however, ssd's have limits as well, and you and i know damn well they're not going to be dropping that much money on top of the line ssd's, so if the system wouldn't be able to handle it now, then it probably won't be able to handle it in the next generation. in addition, storage isn't the only component in a console or computer that effects load times.

Mach 1 is 761 mph, A cropduster (More the modern ones) go 120 mph. A normal airplane like a boeing 737 can go 560 mph. Jet aircraft generally cruise at faster than 609 mph. The fastest plane ever to this day was 7,310 MPH (NASA X-43, which were intentionally destroyed). Mach 3 is 2284 mph.

The SR71 still technically holds the record for a couple reasons. The X-15 was technically an experimental plane and never put into official use. Also, the X-15 couldn't take off on its own power. It had to be dropped from the belly of a B52. Also, the SR71's final record was set after it was decommissioned when one of the few were being transferred to its final resting place at a museum.

Fun fact: In total there were made 32 SR-71 Blackbirds. At that time the plane was thought unbeatable, because the plane could go supersonic for hours while the other planes could go only for a minute or so. They had never been beaten, yet only 16 were left. The only reason why they went out of service was because of the fact that it burned it self midflight in those high speeds... leaving only 16 blackbirds as survivors. All the rest of them just burned to nothing mid air.

The SR-71 Blackbird remains the fastest air-breathing plane ever produced, with an official top speed of 3,540 km/h, but able to go beyond Mach 4 in a pinch it was an incredible piece of Engineering. An effective spy plane it was retired from service in 1998 having never been shot down. There have been faster rock-driven aircraft, of which the X-43 is the current record holder, but in terms of Jets, the Blackbird ruled the skies.

I hate how they added them since they don't exist. When you go over speed of sound you make cone > of compressed air where sound can't go faster so it gets compressed and when you fly over something and sound barrier cone hits their ear, they hear loud noise. Because you move really fast the cone hits their ear only for a split second and that is why it sounds like boom. you can't hear it inside plane and it isn't boom but a constant noise only heard on specific location that moves with the plane.

it's impossible due to airdrag and temperature due to the speed (in the 71 case of course) I'll take the example of the mig-21 wich I know .. a bit, it's max airspeed is 1300Kp/h ish (so roughly mach 1 at sea level standard atmosphere and temp) but can achieve max speed of mach 2 (2.1 in some cases) wich is 2450KpH at around 33000ft (standard atmosphere and temp) all this due to air scarcity (I think it's the word)

I'm pretty sure this isn't realistic, The notorious A-10 Warthog goes roughly 400 MPH. I'm no aircraft expert, but it just seems unreal for the L-39 Albatros (AKA the Besra) to go over 900 MPH.

No that's only been achieved on the MIG-31, At that speed the MIG actually sucked in it's engine. Most fighter jets like the F series of aircraft American's use and Russian SU/MIG can do about 1.8/2.1 With afterburner, and probably in a dive. Normally it's under mach when in combat or going somewhere.

WOW. I check this out for a buddy who loves GTA V and flying, and find everyone talking SR-71! From 70 to 74, my dad was crew chief on the SR-71B at Beale A.F.B. It's great finding so many folks who love my Habui could hear her engines fire up on the flight line from base housing. If I was fast, I could run outside in time to see the shock diamonds when she hit mach...making every window on base rattle! A sad end for such a regal lady; one to the graveyard, one on a pedestal in TX., and the third in the Smithsonian. 😿 ✌💙😸
