Tyler, I do like how much you explain everything. I think you do a great job. I think that most of the people that don't understand why you split the steers and left some of them on paster, are people that don't watch the whole video. You explained why you split them in that video at the end just fine. Thanks for sharing see you next time

Callie was having fun looking for vermin! She is such good company for you. I'm always impressed with your consideration of how things look in your spaces. Also, at giving the cattle the best life possible. When you built that holding pen you didn't really like the way it looked. To me it looked functional. It's really nice that you were thinking of your landlords property and how it looks. Idk when you would have time to hunt! I knew why you took some steers and left some. You explained it.

Tyler, I have been feeding round bales for 40 years in rings. Before I had a hydraulic top link I found it easy to remove the twine or net, drop the bale and then pick up the feeder by the bottom to stand it up. Then, roll it next to the bale, reach down and lift the top-circle closest to your feet and you can flip it over onto the bale. No strap and still works for me when needed, and I'll be 86 in two weeks.

As always enjoyed your videos. Getting to listen to you, see Cali, see the livestock, and learn something new. I appreciate that you’re considerate to the landlord of the property, that’s why they don’t mind you using their tractor 🚜. And I always appreciate how you care for your livestock. I’ve seen the videos of the horrific times when they were dropping dead. Never want that to ever happen again! I like that you try to make sure that they have a happy life with good health, plenty of food and that they feel safe, un-harassed. (If that’s a word 🤷🏻‍♀️). Looking forward to your next video.

FTR don't need no steenking loader for a round bale or the ring feeder! I'm jealous of your weather. OK, it's a bit cloudy but it's cloudy here too. Granted -29F isn't really all that cold but that 12MPH wind makes it feel like -49F and I know it isn't that cold down there.

That hay ring is heavy as I'm reminded every time I move it around. I lift it up so I can roll it around and when in position by the hay roll I lift from the bottom and tip it over onto the roll. It gives me a good workout but I guess I have that "Old Man" strength. You have a gift at hay making, we don't get near that quality here in Texas.
@GilliamFarms

That’s exactly what I do...roll the hay ring to where I need it and lift from the bottom to flip it over the bale when I don’t have my tractor available. I am making a video right now showing getting the ring, putting it together, moving, and using it as well as repairing the skirt on an old bale feeder. Should be up next week...

I welded a sort peace of pipe on my bale rings at about a 45 degree angle and I keep a short pipe in my truck to slip over it in my truck. This allows you to slip it right up and over the bale and save your back. I feed 6x6 bales tho and have found it made my life a lot easier.

when my Dad used to have his ranch many moons ago he would "brush" his favorite bull with and old plastic broom head. You would have thought my Dad was giving him candy. Tyler, Another great video and I really thought for a moment there you are stuck for sure out there in that moment when you deliver the Hay Ring to the Steers!!!!! Especially with a trailer hooked onto the truck I thought that extra weight was going to suck you in to the mud but you were very smart and how you kept pulling for it and then backward and forward and backward until you can get to dryer ground! Many cityfolk don’t realize how quickly Mud can suck your vehicle down in a matter of seconds. I remember the one time that I was stuck in the mud and it happened so quickly and it was late fall early winter and I had to walk a mile or more to get to a phone I… No gloves and ruined my beautiful shoes that I wore to school and I’ve been taught to always stay in the middle of the road which I was in terms of Country roads but a truck was coming and I had no choice but to get over and I try not to get over anymore and I had to and they were moving fast and it was teenage drivers and they go on by me and I’ll end up getting sucked into the “soft spot” of the road, but all too late I was buried axle deep in the mud!!😂 it was such a bad situation that when the tow truck came to help me they almost got stuck as well because we’ve been having rain and snow and rain and snow for days and weeks and a lot of the counties can’t afford to gravel and re-gravel those roads. But I never forgot that lesson and it cost me a fortune to wash my vehicle and to this day I’m terrified of mud!! Your Redmond salt blocks and minerals are not just for animals. I was out on the Internet not too long ago and I discovered a whole organic website of Redman household spices. I was so excited to find this website as I fully intend to order from them knowing the quality a Redmond for life stock it Hass to be equally as good for human beings and I’m a cancer patient and i’m very careful about the spices I use and I encourage everybody to get out there and check it out if they haven’t already. My last comment is about the geese… I want to thank you for not shooting them. First off it wouldn’t exactly be fair hunting when you’re that close to you and secondly not all animals have to be killed. There are plenty of ranchers and farmers raising geese if you want to eat Geese, Or you can go to the areas in states that have an overgrowth of geese but when you’re not causing any harm leave them alone. They mate for life, the father and the mother worked together to sit on the nest and they both help feed and raise the babies and they are gentle parents as well as gentle mates and they remain loyal to each other for the rest of their lives. Human beings could learn a lot from Canadian geese!! And while I’m on the subject, you city folk who are having a fit about a little geese droppings on the sidewalk, she talk to your mayor and your city officials in your governors to stop wasting money to re-transport gears to another area because you don’t like the droppings when it be much cheaper and less manpower to have a power wash used on the sidewalks a couple times a week. Or you could volunteer yourself to Go out and do it it’s amazing to me the amount of people who have a fit about Canadian geese droppings or duck droppings but they don’t have a fit about the huge amount of dog droppings everywhere and people who don’t pick up after their pets. Well that’s enough for my Soapbox!😊 Thank you Tyler again for another great video and like I said earlier in another one, for some reason KZbin has not been sending me your videos so I’m just going back through all of them that I’ve not seen to watch them and I apologize for the delayed comments. Happy new year to you and your wife can you give that Adorable little girl extra hugs

When flipping the hay ring over a round bale, my instinct was to want to push it over from the top like you were doing, but the rings are too high to get good leverage that way, so I found that lifting from the bottom it will tilt over the bale much easier.

I know your hay ring has some weight, but when it’s on end like that. Just grab the top ring and lift and it will tip over. You can even control the fall a little by pulling back as it comes down. I have 3 hay rings which I lift up to stand on their sides to clean up the area. You just have to push them up and then let go. They have enough width to not go right over.
