I'm going to be studying law at CÉGEP next month, so it's to be a paralegal, not a lawyer yet :). The fields I'm interested in are immigration and workers' rights, I'm thinking of maybe combining the two and defending the rights of immigrant workers. I'd like to work for legal clinics like Éducaloi, Juripop, or maybe a firm that specilizes in those areas. Thank you for your advice, it was very helpful!

I'm interested in government attorney. That's what Google told me when I typed government lawyer. I'm getting four aa degrees at a community College before I go to law school. I'm commenting prematurely because I just decided I want to continue as a Lawyer for my career this week. I hope you can give me some feedback on what to do after I transfer from community to a four year or what I should do for government attorney. Thank 😊

The reality is that a student can make all sorts of plans, like major in accounting to be a tax attorney, or study geology to be an environmental attorney, and the bottom line is that what really matters is where you get hired at. Especially if a student graduates during a recession, it's difficult to be picky, so anyone going into law needs to be realistic and have an open mind that they may end up in an area that they never wanted to practice in.

Hi thank you for your videos! I’m struggling to know wether or not to become a lawyer. Please please please, I would love your opinion even though you don’t know me well. The reasons why I am struggling to apply for law school. 1. It’s expensive and I have no one to support me. 2. English is my second language (1st lang. Greek) and even though I loved English class in highschool, I didn’t have to a wide range in vocabulary naturally as my peers, though I was a great tester (because I loved analyzing and synthesizing theme.) I wasn’t good at keeping up with homework I wasn’t interested, and homework I was interested in I would get an A. English class C+ thanks to my good testing and some handed in work. Provincial exam an A. 3. I’ve never been around what seems to be a niche political social class, and I’m scared I won’t be competent enough with people who grew up around political families and generally just jargon thrown around like that. 4. Since I was little my life has mainly been focused on art. I don’t know anything else, other than Art and General Managing (I’ve always unintentionally became a manager wether it would be a team lead or General Manager of a hotel, because of my quick thinking, resourcefulness, and what I noticed my genuine empathy towards my colleagues.) Plus my work ethic is high on jobs, because I like to get as close as idealistically possible to the best outcome, as well as I’m highly efficient with problem solving and management of people and time. But I’ve never been a good student in like… school, the reason at age 24 I’ve had all this working experience is because I’ve always been a good life learner, from actually taking given advice and practising it, to having people voluntarily mentor me because of my drive and passion. The reason why I am interested in law, is because of the immigration injustice I have seen, the exploitation and fraudulent behaviour of some of these employers in Canada. I would like to work in humanitarian causes like that. I just… I am not confident enough to know to be sure, taking that risk of that student loan… and having no support around me, and I fail… Well I just want to know if generally, since you are a lawyer and you have been through it, if my faults are extremely detrimental to the point I wouldn’t be advised to practise law, and instead be advised to attack my humanitarian passion in a different angle. I know it’s a lot to read but I thank you for your time. I know there is a lot of faults but I’m trying to give a realistic view of who I am. Thank you again 🙏
