I used to take my D2s to work every day around a 10-mile round trip in Central London. The battery life was so bad that I ended up attaching 3 mobility scooter batteries to the back to get it to 36 volts. It weighed around 40 kg dangerously heavy and imbalanced around corners but I could ride it for up to 3 hours without stopping. Then I bought a motorbike since I liked it so much!

I only use the battery assist on hills or with strong headwinds. Usually on power setting 2 which gives me a cruising speed of 15 to 18 kph - range is enough to cover up to 50 km (after which I get a bit sore!). If you run flat out in Power 3 with no pedal assist at 25 kph then I can see how you ran out of power.

Nice, enjoyable video. Very informative. Thanks for posting. Just ordered one of these. Looks like nice biking country up there. Incidentally, I was once admonished by my old bike mechanic neighbour for putting the rear light on the near side.

Hi sir thank you for the video very well done. I have the same bike but I have an electric problem. The batterie is full loaded, I've tested it 36V but when I try to push one of the 3 switch the red light just pop up but shut down directly. Do you have any advices for me to repair. Thank you:)

Check all the connections to the controller (in the rear frame section). Also check for any damaged wires. In particular the wires going into the hub motor.

I just purchased a d2s. Can I enable cruise control, and hack the speed on it.? If so, I would appreciate it if you can let me know how in the response section. Thanks. Chris.
@DougsShed2 жыл бұрын
I do not think that the controller on the D2s can be hacked like some of the other Fiido units. I have not found any ways of doing it.

@@DougsShed What about cruise control? I was able to do both on my D3 pro.
@DougsShed2 жыл бұрын
@@jasonnisi1602 No - does not have that either. You would probably need to change the motor controller and hand controller to get those functions.

I got the bike few days ago , and now the horn / light buttons dont working any more
@DougsShed3 жыл бұрын
Have you got the motor power switched on? Horn and lights only work when the motor power assist is turned on. Failing that, trace the wiring from the handlebar switch to the controller module in the rear half of the frame and check the connector there.

A bike needs to be really serviceable over form. How annoying will it be if you get a flat tire?
@DougsShed3 жыл бұрын
Quite easy to change a tire - but needs a little bit more dismantling than a standard bicycle with drop-outs. The rear hub motor does add some further complexity due to the power leads on the right hand side giving access to removing the tire/tube from the left side of the wheel only.

i got issue with steering folding mechanism pin wich comes off after vibration
@DougsShed3 жыл бұрын
Which pin? The main pin holding the folding column should not come loose if the clamp is adjusted up tight enough. To increase the clamping force, adjust the toggle lever force by turning the hexagonal rod as required.

Legality of the bicycle depends on your country's laws. Here in the UK, the bike should not have a throttle lever or twist grip throttle. It should only give electric assistance in pedalec mode. It should be possible to disable the twist grip throttle on the Fiido D2s - either mechanically or electrically. The only times I have used the twist grip throttle were when starting off on steep uphill gradients as the pedals need to make a full revolution before the electric motor kicks in (and this saves me falling off!).
@joethompson76632 жыл бұрын
Have you ever been stopped by the police enquiring about your bike's features?
@DougsShed2 жыл бұрын
I have never encountered any police on my trips. The twist grip throttle is very discrete and probably would never be noticed. I very rarely have needed to use the manual throttle (useful in setting off on extremely steep hills).

how many hours do you have on the bike until it completely runs out
@DougsShed3 жыл бұрын
I never run the battery completely flat. I usually cycle about 28km on the medium level of pedal assist and the battery still shows 4 of the 5 battery level bars.

I have the same bike and my right peddle has also developed a click. I havent changed it though as it still works ...would it do any damage to the actual pedal if I just put up with it ? I never rode without tue peddle assist, I find the gearing just too slow. I also changed the seat to a sprung seat, and its made it far more comfy. All in all a good bike. Cheers.
@DougsShed4 жыл бұрын
I found the clicking pedal really annoying! For £8, I would just change the pedals. The sprung seat sounds like a good idea. I'm quite happy to doddle along at 15kph just pedalling.

is 25 kph the max unassisted speed - have you tried to unlock the faster speed if that is possible?
@DougsShed4 жыл бұрын
The Fiido D2s uses a different controller to some of the earlier bikes and it is not possible to unlock the speed limiter. The 25 kph is the maximum speed to which the motor provides assistance. You can pedal faster than 25 kph (if you are fit enough)!
