Here what we did for the light and horn connection> From light> red to green wire of buttons,>Black to negative of battery, yellow to yellow. From buttons> green to red of lights, red to positive of battery, yellow to yellow That made the light and horn work again using the original buttons on the steering bar

Just carried out this exact Mod….same controller and display, Thank you Jonas… my D4s feels like a completely different bike…. Instant pedal response, max motor speed with pedal assist only (top speed will depend on rider weight but expect 30 to 40 kmh).., and you can set the throttle to comply with UK law….😉.

Thank you for such a clear instructional video. do you know if the Fiido D2s has a suitable motor for this conversion? I have the D4s and I'm happy with it as is. But my son has my old D2s and I'd like to liven it up a bit. This would transform the D2s, however I'm not too hopeful as I've tried two other controllers when it was mine. Also if anyone knows how many magnets the D2s has, that might help if I get that far.

Hi, so connecting the light and horn……Just cut connectors from old controller and connect the orange wire direct to 36v battery and the black wire to battery negative. Is this correct ?

Hallo Jonas, Danke für das tolle Video. Wie hast du das mit dem Licht gelöst? Hast du die Anschlüsse für das Licht einfach an die schwarze und orange Leitung für den Akku angeschlossen oder hast du noch einen externen Schalter verwendet, damit man das Licht auch ein- und ausschalten kann. Ja genau. Der Schalter vom originalen Licht ist im Grunde auch ein externer Schalter, man kann also auch den verwenden.

I'm in France, I did a similar modification but stumbled upon a few issues... Color coding was different for PAS and throttle. Throttle was no problem to fix but PAS was a pain to find the right wiring combination. And I still have an issue with PAS, I'm starting to think that every basic controller is tuned for a particular wheel size, which if you don't match with your lcd may disrupt the PAS system

No unfortunately not. I checked some capacitors and mosfets inside of the original Controller, it should handle 48v batteries. But Im not 100% sure

Hey Leon, ich glaube du hast Recht das CE Zeichen auf dem Rahmen ist für den Akku bestimmt. Das mit der DIN Abnahme ist immer so eine Sache. Wenn du den Controller getauscht hast, ist es im Grunde so als würdest du dein altes Fahrrad zu einem Pedelec aufrüsten, was bisher auch erlaubt ist und du nicht Abnehmen lassen musst. (Ganz zu schweigen von den horrenden Summen die man bezahlen muss nur um an die Anforderungen!!! der EN15194 Norm zu kommen) --> siehe www.pedelecforum.de/forum/index.php?threads/din-en15194.39223/ Ich glaube ganz sicher kann man sich wirklich nur sein, wenn man sich ein Fahrrad beim Händler kauft.

Ich habe bei Pedelec Vorschriften nur das folgende gefunden: "Alle in der EU verkauften Pedelecs benötigen eine EU-Konformitätserklärung inkl. CE-Kennzeichnung. Insbesondere bei Importen sollte darauf geachtet werden. S-Pedelecs benötigen darüber hinaus eine Zulassung." (www.e-bikeinfo.de/recht/gesetzliche-vorschriften-e-bikes-pedelecs) Eine EU-Konformitätserklärung und die CE-Kennzeichnung bekommt man von Fiido per PDF sollte man die wollen.

Hi Jonas, simply amazing what you have done !!! I have a related question. My assist stops at 18 km, p/h, that is annoying and I can still use the throttle but it seems wrong. Also in the boosted mode, it stops at 18 even though top speed goes up to 35 with throttle. Can I disconnect or do somethng with the speed sensor?? Would be so good if that would work. But which wire and how. Thanks in advance for your support

Hey :) also wie du dem Video entnehmen kannst ist der Pedal Sensor nicht zwingend erforderlich, da auch der originale sehr gut funktioniert (dann aber mit löten). Wenn du den von mir verlinkten Controller nimmst solltest du alle Anschlüsse mit sm plug nehmen. Die Waterproof plugs gehen nicht an den Controller bzw. du bräuchtest Adapter oder müsstest löten.

Hi Jonas! I have changed the controller and display according to your instructions. I bought a controller and display from the links below the video I have not connected the light and the horn, I do not need it yet (i do it later) I have two problems: 1. There is no pedal assist. With the throttle it drives correctly, it accelerates to at least 36 km / h, maybe more I haven't tried becase have to stop. I will check the soldering of the cables because today it was too late, to do this. 2.I cannot enter the service menu on the display. Pressing two arrows (as shown in the movie) deletes only the daily distance and the daily time. Can you help? PS. The link under the video to the post about replacing the controller does not work.

Yes, if you buy the Controller I have linked you will need the sm plugs. For the Waterproof plugs you would also need a Controller that has them. But as we wont Mount the Controller outside the frame, there is no need to use them (plus they take too much space)

Grundsätzlich ist die Verkabelung ähnlich (eventuell sind die farben beim PAS-Sensor anders) ob aber die Konfig und der Motor überhaupt mit dem Controller reibungslos läuft kann ich nicht versprechen

you mean with the kt controller? just dont connect the throttle. On the stock controller you will get an error message if you remove the throttle

Hey gerne :) ja über 30kmh geht auch, wenn man den Controller so konfiguriert. Nachteile eigentlich keine soweit (hab das gefühl der Motor ist etwas lauter, kann aber auch daran liegen, dass die Pedal Unterstützung kräftiger ist.) Hab den Controller jetzt schon seit September an meinem eigenen Fahrrad und er funktioniert perfekt.

Ich wünschte die pedalunterstützung würde nach oben „offen“ sein. Ich ertappe mich immer wieder nur mit Daumengas zu fahren, weil tempo 30 einfach mehr spass machen. Hey man, it seems like fiido uses a lot of different pas-Sensors on their D4s, this problem happens a lot. I would try black to black, green to yellow and brown to red. If that doesnt work switch yellow and brown. But black needs to be on black, as its ground most likely.

Hey, meinst du mit dem KT-Controller oder mit dem originalen? Den KT-Controller interessiert es nicht ob ein Gas angeschlossen ist oder nicht, funktioniert also auch absolut ohne (hab ich auch im Einsatz, da der Throttle durch die gute Pedalunterstützung wirklich obsolet wird) Mit dem originalen Controller geht es auch, er zeigt dann aber konstant einen Fehler im Display an (ansonsten funktioniert also auch so wie gewohnt, so weit ich weiß) - hatte ich aber nie so im Einsatz, also ohne Gewähr

@@malue248 das ist seltsam, also eigentlich dürfte es mit den einstellungen nur bis 6kmh unterstützen. Ansonsten kannst du mal ins Handbuch vom Controller schauen (auf Google KT LCD5 pdf), es gibt so weit ich weiß zwei verschiedene art und weisen das handgas per software zu deaktivieren. Am einfachsten ist natürlich das Handgas einfach nicht anzuschließen, so hab ich es mittlerweile, dann muss man bei einer polizeikontrolle nicht erklären, dass das daumengas nur bis 6kmh unterstützt und das legal ist.

die ganzen E Bike Controller sind alles propietäre Lösungen. KT Displays funktionieren nur an KT Controllern und das Fiido Display nur am Fiido Controller. Aber bei den KT Displays gibt es ja glücklicherweise eine große Auswahl. (und deutlich mehr Funktionen als beim Fiido Display, man kann sich z.B. die Volt des Akkus anzeigen lassen, etc..)

there have been people who done it. But settings should be different and I cant promise, that everything works like on the d4s. Afaik there where problems with the hall sensor, but the controller works without them.

both. it has a very small engine, which is designed for speeds at around 25-28kmh. Maybe you can get higher speeds with higher voltage and another controller. But you could damage the motor doing that

When you say 'way better pedal assist', what do you mean? Is it smoother, faster etc? A torque sensor would be nice 😁

It starts immediatly after you Pedal. On the original Controller you need to pedal quite a few Times before it assists. Yes, there are kt Controllers with torque simulation and torque sensors. Maybe you can try that out

Ich finde nirgendwo Infos, welche neue Gabel du verwendet hast. Kannst du dazu mal was schreiben? Danke auch für die Controller Infos, das hat mir beim Umbau sehr geholfen,
