I've got fd5 last April as my birthday gift to my self. I want to ask for suggestion for more linear sounding iem in 300dollar range.

to be honest, for me FD5 is already pretty linear. and I can't think of something much more linear. maybe Etymotics

What you need is a linear dap like lbasso 220???Ak daps etc. A shanling m3x to m8 in linear roll off setting or use bit perfect setting on USB Audio player.They would turn the fiio fd5 to a linear sounding iem...

It's not huge, but pretty noticeable, FD3 is less dry and more lively, subjectively, they are more enjoyable for me

There is no version of this IEMs with microphone, as they're targeted for usage with some kind of DAC or player, not directly with smartphone. But you can get an MMCX cable with mic from Ali and use it

it's a matter of what you want to achieve. in general, this model is more natural and technical, but at the same time, it's not as warm as Blon, so if you need a warmth in sound, it can be not optimal choice for you

Thank you very much for your review. I am looking for a pair of iems for indoor listening, specially for classical music, orchestra and soundtracks (Hans Zimmer and alike). Would the FD3 be a good choice? How about the Tinhifi P1? Or maybe do you have any other good recommendation?

it's a matter of your preferences here. P1 is more focused on microcontrast, and sound more analytical. but at the same time they can be too harsh and less forgiving for the quality of record. FD3 is also a pretty neutral model, but less dry there are a bunch of other options of course (like my subjective preference BQEYZ Spring 2), but you need to decide what signature you want

IEM of Fiio very problematic in terms of MMCX connectors. I got problem with my FD 5 I bought one month ago. It is not connected good and fails every time I try to fix my FD5 in the ear.

Fiio have to think about it, to take responsibility and fix the issue. But first of all to solve the problem for castomers who bought the Fiio product

I don't have big statistics, but as far as I know, FiiO's MMCX aren't more problematics than others. MMCX is a pretty poor connector in general, sad that industry selected it

I have the FD3 and returned the FH3. The bass on the FH3 is better/tighter. But the FD3 has a fuller sound in the mids and the treble which I felt is more enjoyable. Beyond the bass the FH3 sounded too thin to me and acoustics did not sound that good. Both have good details but maybe the FH3 is a little bit better in that regard.
