Nice, thoroughly taken review. Thanks for that. I'm always on a split when it comes to the FD7, hint that I'm using the FD5 with Final E-Tips to tame the highs by a bit. But it's very tempting, especially once you've heard that massive headstage of the FD5. ^^ Have to think twice about getting the FD7, nonetheless. Thank you again for that review. All the best from Germany Chris

Very clean, crisp and airy sounding IEM's. Not the best isolation against the "sounds of the city", but very good for the rest.

Waiting for a Smsl D2 review 😉 wonder if IT will be an considerable upgrade vs M400 🙂
@Soundnews3 жыл бұрын
An upgrade? Yes. A considerable upgrade? Certainly not. To me it sounds mostly like a refined version of D1 SE, with even more meat and lushness, while decompressing the stage even more

@@Soundnews that's pretty much what sound characteristic I was expecting IT to have. Thanks You for the response - awaiting the review with anticipation 🙂

How do the Fiio FD7 IEMs sound when driven by the Keces E40 integrated amp? I have the original Topping D90 feeding this amp. I like to critically listen to jazz and new age music that has a lot of layers and details. I currently have Sundara 2020 headphones and FD3 IEMs. I think the E40 and the Sundaras are a great match. Thanks.

Great review as always. Which would you choose, Kato, Timeless, FD5?

Out of those three and without thinking twice: 7Hz Timeless. It is like having a pair of Audeze in your pockets.

@@Soundnews Wow are they really that good? Do they have Audeze punch/slam and cream?
@Soundnews3 жыл бұрын
@@yogiwp_ Everything except the punch (which can be slightly improved with memory foams). Yeah, I love them too and I don't think anyone can compete with them at $200.

@@Soundnews which DAP are you driving the 7Hz Timeless with Sandu? I'm interested in the power needed to "open them up" since they are planars after all. I have an A&K SP1000M (4.2Vrms condition no load) 🤔 would that suffice? Thanks!
@Soundnews3 жыл бұрын
@@Filopo07 Hey Felipe, I'm using a FiiO M11 Plus, but I think SP1000M should be enough via its balanced output.

Is it suitable for deathstep?

Cool review. Just out of curiosity, did you burn them in for around 100h as it is suggested? If yes did you notice changes in the sound characteristics?

Correction: FD5 on steriods = FH9. FD7 has LESS bass and LESS treble than FD5. I love FD5, but FD7 seems to be 2 steps back.

I hope you checked my measurements in the written review...less brightness is not a step back, at least in my book.
