Thanks for the good review of our national airline ! Appreciate it greatly ! Just on the seat to lay flat bed , usually the crew makes your bed before you sleep - they put a soft topper ontop of the seat for a real comfy sleep. I wonder why it didnt happen on your flight. Maybe by the time they swung around to do yours you waz alseep already. Anyways new sub here. A fijian residing in San Francisco, Ca. Happy travels !!!

Thanks for the heads up about no TSA pre at LAX. I booked on AA for 80k miles IAH-LAX-NAN. Do you know if I'll have to recheck bags in LAX since I'm flying IAH-LAX on AA? I might try carry-on only if I would need to recheck bags just to avoid dealing with regular security in LAX. Thanks for the in-depth review and lounge tips. Excited for our trip this summer.

That I don't know for certain. If it is all booked on the same itinerary, typically, you don't have to recheck your bag. But I would contact AA to confirm. I never check bags myself.🧳

I'm doing your trip in a few weeks. Just wondering if 2 hrs layover in LAX will give me time to stop by the lounges before boarding.

A 2-hour layover, you will probably get about 1 hour at the lounge since the gate is a short hike, and boarding starts a little early. So I would say just choose one lounge because it is unlikely you will have enough time to truly enjoy both.

*A LAX is my favorite. The outdoor patio with fire pits is cool, as are the self-pour alcohol and showers. I liked the basement Centurion lounge for the few weeks it was open at the beginning of Covid.

I still like the Basement centurion lounge 😆. I would prefer the Star Alliance lounge or One World Lounge, but compared to other centurion lounges around the country, I've never had an issue getting into the centurion lounge at LAX. Maybe because it is in the Basement 😂

For business class to NAN from LAX using your membership rewards points, check out Qantas, or if you can get a transfer bonus British Airways. Both programs are partnered with Fiji Airways.

ANA is a part of Star Alliance, so look for the best deals with Star Alliance partners and book them with you ANA miles.

$10,000 is way too much! If you can get points with a One World Airline partner, it can make it much more affordable, though it may be difficult finding 4 seats. Fiji Airways is great, though. The happiest staff I've ever met 🇫🇯❤️

I booked it using Alaska Airlines miles. Alaska Airlines is partnered with Fiji Airways. If you can find award availability, it is only 55,000 miles plus about $100 in taxes for business class to Fiji 😁
