You remind me that for 2 weeks, I have not made a "full" IFR flight! The Toliss A320 is my favorite. In my opinion, this is the best example of a “study level” aircraft.

I cannot wait until a plane with systems as accurate as this is released for MSFS. I love instrument flight during bad weather, but back in X-Plane I couldn't stand the weather representation, even with mods.

I even bought weather effects-enhancing mods. It doesn't do much. MSFS is pretty much spoiled us already.

@@marshie1337 I'm not sure if I can fully agree with that. The flight model is probably equally complex, with both simulators using virtual wind tunnels for aerodynamics. The weather systems in FS2020 are highly advanced, even without taking the visuals into account. Only the plane systems are still not on the level of X-Plane, but honestly that's just because X-Plane has been around much longer and the mods and addons are much further developed. It's not like the default planes in X-Plane are that complex either.

The effects of a game that has had long post release development. MSFS isnt far behind i would guess.

The flight sim environment has long been a symbiotic relationship between the software developers and the modding community - there's just far too much for a single developer to be realistically expected to do. X-Plane by default may not look that fantastic, but it has the base functionality, and the community have created a vast collection of scenery and aircraft to make up for the deficiency over the years. Similarly, MSFS has the graphics by default now (much improved over its predecessor), and the modding community will take up much of the slack as far as aircraft functionality goes (and MS will address any core bugs as they can).

Thank you for explaining the different CAT procedures indicated in the approach chart and providing some background on how these procedures are usually handled in real life. There are much more aspects involved than I thought but it makes sense. Having watched your night autoland video some months ago this one adds quite interesting additional details.

Hi Chanboth, ok my channel there are tutorials for RNAV, VOR using Final APP and VOR Using track FPA. If you aren’t sure what final App and Track FPA are then it’s explained in the videos. I hope they help!

1 tiny thing: don't use pink bars on the bottom of the thumbnail. It can be easily mistaken with a watched video in the sub box (red thin bar on bottom of thumbnail).

Aside from enabling CAT III Dual landings what function does enabling both autopilots serve?

It provides a backup on approach. For non precision approaches (RNAV/VOR) you only use one autopilot. Hope this helps!

I have not found it very easy to set such low visibility in MSFS yet, I don’t know if it will be added but X plane has features for very low visibility!

if i remember, the cloud icon in the top bar, you can chose different weather. if not, put the bottom lower cloud layer to altitude 0, it's fog...
