Oh man, thank you for this. The two things that threw me off in Filemaker so far that you cleared up: the little "one to many" graphic in the relationship lines (I thought it was an arrow that was meaning... something else), and the fact that the relationship view is not just for data structure but also for views. As a programmer who has worked with various SQL databases for years, I thought "Pff, Filemaker? No problem." But some of this is tricky!

Matt is not a midget; even though he sits at the bottom of the screen.

Hi Matt, Great videos. I'm on Lesson #3. KZbin is not helping you or us. After watching Lesson #1, it recommended Lesson #2 from a different series of lessons, provided by you. You have . . . I believe 5 lesson #2's, and KZbin is not recommending them in the correct order. The KZbin recommendations are coming from both at the end, within the video (in a PIP) and in the next video below the video I just watched. This problem may have been caused by your naming scheme. You don't differentiate from one series to another series in the titles.

If you go to the channel by clicking on the logo you should find video lists where all the videos for a given series are listed in order. I hope that helps out.

MATT...… is this video supposed to be viewed by Beginners? ….. Really Matt?.... Really? How can it be when you delve into advanced topics alien even to some intermediate users!! If I were a beginner, you would have scared me off!!! …… Know your audience and speak to them!!

Interesting, are the topics of equal, not equal, greater than and less than that hard to process? What about it is advanced? Yes, maybe the concept of predicates. But wouldn't you expect to get something that falls within a range if you supply < and >?

Matt.. you are the man when it comes to FileMaker, of that there is no doubt. No these topics are not hard to process, however my point was that as a "FileMaker Beginner's Quick Tip", if was more apt for an intermediate user and certainly not for a beginner! I am only giving you the feedback you asked for when you sent the link to the presentation. I have to say I always find you are inclined to go off point or take tangents in many of your videos mainly because you record live and ad lib without rehearsal. I would be willing to bet that this presentation if far removed from one you had originally concepted.

Thanks for the feedback. I'll give it some thought and try to improve.

I'm always confused when people say beginner, intermediate, advanced. How about summing them up with topic detail? Such as Relationships detailed or Relationships deep dive. Or if you would just make a burlesque( tease without strip, i e ) show: Relationships on. the surface. I implemented Tetris in FileMaker 5.5 it ran fine on G3/233 and 266, but it was starting at level 12 when on G3/300. I was very much a beginner back then.
