Recovery from surgery, along with the drugs, will do that! We (somewhat oddly) tend to forget that any kind of surgery, including for wisdom teeth, is actually traumatic. Controlled & for a specific purpose in a positive way, but a form of trauma nonetheless, requiring significant effort from the body's systems to recover from the shock & get back to a healthy state. 🤕

As someone who has had their wisdom teeth out... I cannot relate. My dentist just gave me some local anesthetic, removed them with pliers and knife and sent me home. And I drove home. All I got was a mild ache after a few hours that was gone the next day... Yet somehow everyone else comes home in pain and high as a kite... like wtf was my dentist Jesus?
