You are feeling connected. It’s something us Filipino Americans lack. But we need more people like you. I’ve been thinking about a way to contribute to the Filipino community thru social media. I just don’t know what my niche is. But you are very inspiring! Thank you so much for sharing your experiences as you reconnect! Also, if you are up to it. Hawaii (where I am from) has a HUGE Filipino community. Visit Waipahu in the island of Oahu (where Honolulu is) and see how the culture has evolved to its own little Philippines! I’m sure it will help with your drive to reconnect!! But yes, you have no idea how much I resonate with you and how much it drives me to reconnect myself as well! Thank you!!

Hawaii has been on my radar for so long now. I know there is a very deep connection (both spiritual and in our DNA) that connects our islands. Thank you for connecting with me. I’m always here if you want to chat about how to connect with our community. It’s been an amazing journey so far… mainly because I get to meet people like you, who are inspiring ME. Salamat, Kapwa.💞

I listened to your commentary over these videos of Manila you've captured. Glad you've decided to come back home. There's so much work to do. The people and our government need to do better so that no Filipinos have to leave the country and risk their lives for a better future.

I agree completely! My rediscovery of our beautiful culture is one way I’m trying to help uplift how amazing we are as a people and inspire our community to aspire for a better way of life.

New subscriber here. Quite a long journey you’re trying to embark here. I admire you. Complicated as we are, learning about your roots is the just the beginning of knowing who you really are. Born and raised in the Philippines migrated to the US when I was 20. Now at my 50s, I see myself returning home some day. Mabuhay and maraming salamat!

Thank you, Virgil! Yes to everything you just said. I’d love to learn about your journey. Moving to a different country in your 20s is quite the life changing experience. I lived in Germany during my 20s and it made me who I am today.

Hey Tesz. I share the exact same sentiment. Because that could be me. I think about it all the time when I watch KZbin and see the kids on the street. And the decisions my parents made to get us a better life. I feel like I won the lottery. Oh I would 😭like a baby if I went back to the Philippines 🇵🇭

Thank you for understanding and sharing these same sentiments. There is truth in it being called MOTHERland.🥰
