1. Never, ever have a joint bank account...or give her a credit card linked to your account. Give her a cash allowance each month. 2. Never, ever buy a property and put it in her name. Buy a condo in your name or take a 50 year lease on a hose in your name. 3. Never "fall in love" with a bar girl or ex-bar girl. Go to the provinces and meet a girl there or get an educated woman who has a decent job and her own money

Paul Davis well said. Always keep your assets and investments in USA. Or whatever your country. It’s 1000x safer and there is no need to have investments in PHL. True you want to have a better lifestyle in PHL and a descent place to live and a car. Don’t buy or rent what you wouldn’t want to “donate” to the PHL when things go south. Your a visitor and will always be the outsider.

Foreigners are not allowed to own land in the Philippines. You can own a condo, but 60% of the units must be owned by Filipinos. If I ever move to the Philippines I'm going to rent and only bring enough money to live on. The vast majority of my money will stay in the USA. Great video Marcos. Very educational.

The most accurate description of how life and relationships work over there. No sugar coating. One point I have to mention is that if you want to have your piece of paradise in the Philippines, is to remain single and just rent an apartment or house. You can have girlfriends, but never allow them to stay in your apartment or house. None of her possessions should be physically on your property, including the toothbrush. Because she can still grab whatever you own claiming you both are common law husband and wife. If you want an intimate relationship, sleep over in a hotel for the night. Not in your place.

Children are like farts, you can only really tolerate your own ones. Dating a single mother is like doing time for a crime u didn’t commit Dating single mothers is Okay... As long as you want to throw your money away! When she says "my children come first", that means she will screw you over in any way she chooses if she thinks it will help her children. Dating a single mom is like buying a used car for a new car’s price. Dating a woman with kids only benefits the woman not the man or even the kids Dating single mothers is like pulling a date out of an insane asylum. Investing my time, money, and energy into another man's seed?...... no thank you! Every date I’ve gone on with a single mother only revolved around what i could do for her and her kids. There was never anything in it for me. I’ll never date a single mother again. Dating a single Mom is like starting a soccer match trailing one or two nil.

If your a foriegner married to a Filipino woman and, decided to purchased a house and lot make sure you have your name be put in the title along with your wife's name. In the event an unexpected situation happen between you and, your wife your right will be protected you get 50% of proceed of the property not unless your wife pass away then the property will be belongs to you 100 %. Its deffirent than buying a condo. You can purchse a condo in your name alone if you choose to no matter if your married to a filipina woman you dont have to include her name to the title. In a condo your not buying the land your only buying the structure of the building. I hope this will help you in the future in your decision making in buying property in the Philippines. Good luck! Poor bastard. Pays for the house and car....hires a driver who's been driving his wife. If it was me there would have been a mysterious fire with a couple of unfortunate crispy Filipinos found in the ashes.

A foreigner I met was doing six months on 6 off. Built a nice house on a huge lot for him and his wife and her bf. He lost everything unfortunately. Luckily he was making great money so he recovered fast. Most can't recover.

I agree. I’m in a relationship now. Just like you talked about. I built a house on my wife’s property. I went into this knowing I would walk away if I had to with nothing. It is something I do because it feels good. Yes it would hurt if she had a boyfriend in the shadows. But until that happens I will keep on giving. It gives me something to live for. I am 77 years old and don’t have to much more time to enjoy life. Write now she treats me with respect and love. I hear what you and everyone else says.

This is THE Best advice ever. Thanks for your experience in life lessons for Expats or Tourist. All I can add is remember when you share stories of your past with the new Filipina GF, when she says to you that she doesn't want to exchange her past with you because of..she makes up some reason. Then you know she was at least! A Freelancer. Thanks again! Yes I realize this is a couple years old but anyway good luck to you and your audience..

King. More case studies please lol. These stories are classic. You should write a book on Foreigner stories and create documentary videos so we can watch and learn from them.

Good sense, Mark. Fortunately for me I'm an older American and through hard experience I've developed the common sense (I didn't have it when I was young!) to avoid all that. But good advice for the young men heading out to your neck of the woods.
