Thank you Aarlehn, another wonderful reaction. Rock and Roll at the beginning, I heard 'It Doesn't Matter Any More' on our wireless when I was around 13 just before Elvis, Buddy had already died. There aren't a lot of live recordings of Buddy, as it was with Elvis then, black and white, late 1950s. A completely new sound in 🎶 and of course it just took off. You're doing so well, and I can see you're enjoying every minute. Well done 👏 👏.

My Oldest brother used to play this in bars when my parents thought he was at school. Sweet memories of a time long gone by.

Hi, His backing band is known as the Crickets. Now they use to practice in a garage with old mattressses fastend to the wall to keep the noise down. And one day every time the double base player would start to play. The cricket would make a noise. So they stopped playing and found the cricket. Then let it go outside. And one of the ban said "We should call ourselves Buddy Holly and the Crickets." Laughing they all agreed it sounded nice. And the rest is history.

Great, my big idol in the 50s. Unfortunately, in 1959, an accident left us far too early.

Lovely reaction, he was brilliant and so awful he died so young in the plane crash,' The day the music died' by Don McLean was a tribute to Buddy Holly and Ritchie Valens who died in the plane crash. 😥 Anyway lovely reaction, 🌹❤️😁

Hi. Very nice reaction. . This might be an early version of Peggy Sue. The chorus is missing. “Peggy Sue, Peggy Sue Pretty pretty pretty Peggy Sue”

It was cut short on Sullivan's request (They used to have a lot of acts on that show), they also did a shortened version of That'll be the Day, later in the show.

Hello, Aarlehn! Kamusta, kaibigan? How wonderful to see you reacting to Buddy Holly, one of the great pioneers of early Rock 'n' Roll and one of the most important figures in modern music. Buddy has a lot of hit songs, but it was always Elvis Presley who was the more popular of the two. Despite that, Buddy's influence had a bigger impact on music. It was his ability to write his own songs as well as sing and play them that captured the imaginations of thousands of kids in the United Kingdom. Along with Chuck Berry, The Everly Brothers and Eddie Cochran, Holly was idolised by British kids who would become members of The Beatles, The Hollies, The Rolling Stones, The Who, and so many more. These bands would go on to shape the future of music for decades to come, thanks to Buddy's music and legacy. Further, it was Buddy's band, The Crickets, that gave the rising UK groups the desire to have a regular line-up of musicians that were just as important to the sound as the lead singer was. It was these UK bands that forever changed the music that we listen to, and all because of bands like Buddy Holly and the Crickets. As always, my dear Aarlehn, take care and stay safe. Maligayang Pasko sa iyo at sa iyong pamilya, aking kaibigan. Pinagpala If I may suggest a few songs for you .... - Another soul who perished too early, like Buddy Holly, Eddie Cochran's Twenty Flight Rock. This is the song that Paul McCartney played so that John Lennon accepted him into the band that would become The Beatles kzbin.info/www/bejne/iHW0pHSsorWoipo&ab_channel=AndyA - Another early Rock 'n' Roll legend, Little Richard, who had a long string of hits from the 1950s and onward. He was another big influence on the great UK bands, though very few could imitate his style. kzbin.info/www/bejne/qqGXqYuVfrOWpbM&ab_channel=GoldenYears%3A50%27s%2660%27s - For something different, I hope you may try this one. If you do, I'll tell you more about it ☺ kzbin.info/www/bejne/iWPadJiNZcdqqsU&ab_channel=threerowbarley

@@LhenJhenTV You're very welcome, my friend. Part of my love of music is learning as much about it as I can and how it all ties together. Anything you want to know, I may know it or have other historian friends who will. Merry Christmas! ☺
