Nice vid Mia. I've said this a few times before. You and Paul have so much in common with me and my Filipina. We are about 16 years ahead of you. I'm very confident that your relationship will follow our arc. Many of the things that you worry about now become small issues because of the level of love that you will have for each other overcomes everything. I always tell my wife "it's me and you against the world and we live life one day at a time." You guys married the right partners at the right time for the right reasons. This puts you and Paul in a position of power that most others never get to experience. Focus on love and being good people and all your problems will be minimal :)

I do like your level headedness regarding the Pros and Cons in a relationship with an Older Man, knowing these failings not just your own but in others and dealing with them in a mature manner, says a great deal about you and your partners bond. The most important thing for any Young woman getting married to an Older man, is to sit down and talk about any and all fears she may have to find ways to try and overcome or resolve these fears with the help from her partner he must be willing to ensure that she feels as safe secure and comfortable in the relationship moving forward. by the way i must comment on your English it is better than most people here in the UK LOL

Mia, I can understand your concerns and the one I would like to address is the older man and illness or passing away. A responsible man would make sure you had the benefits of a life insurance policy, trust or both. I'm from the US and we not only do this for our family but we want to leave our adult children an inheritance also

I would argue that women actually like it when they see other women trying to go after their man. The fact that they do, shows her that she has a man of high value, so high value that it's worth trying to go for him even when his wife is next to him in puclic. That kind of aman is a man worth keeping. If no other women ever try to go after your man, it tells you that no-one wants him. This in turn makes you question why should YOU stay with him. This is the basic nature of a woman. They want a man that ALL other women want too. The part where they actually get mad is when younger/hotter woman tries it. That is when a woman feels like she is in danger, because she knows that there is an actual chance of loosing him.

I think the expat has most of the same fears yes he changed your status but so did you you made him feel like a teenager again and you ladies are probably the most beautiful ladies that ever gave your expat attention I think he is probably just as insecure about losing you. I think Paul is a very blessed man I can see the love in your expressions and hear it in your voice and your a beautiful lady but your love and commitment to Paul makes you lots more beautiful. This fear that we older husband will leave you for any reason, including age, is unfounded. In my life a friend had the same thing, he had a twenty year age difference and had been married for over thirty years. His young wife recently died and now he is alone with his pain. As you say, I described these snakes in another thread. Once we have a good marriage, these snakes come out of the holes to ruin that marriage, but we older, good men are immune to it because we know what we are ruining. I also know that we need to continually affirm each other every second so that our connection stays together and takes away those fears you described.

Mia: There will ALWAYS be people who are jealous, stupid, evil, gossipy, etc.. The defect is with them, NOT you. If you base your self-worth on what other people think of you, you will almost surely think badly of yourself because bad things WILL be said about you by jealous, stupid, evil, gossipy, etc. people. You did nothing criminal or even unethical, and you didn't hurt anybody, by deciding to marry an older foreigner. If you are happy with your decision, that is all that matters, and other people have no right to belittle your decision. Mia. I applaud you, for your acknowledgment that being with an older foreigner, brings about a significant shift in living standards and social status. However, I believe it to be a bit disingenuous to say or imply this has no or little effect on a Filipinas decision to date a foreigner. I applaud a woman if she can find a compatible mate that improves her standard of living whether he be foreigner or local, so I’m not so sure why Filipinas try to remove this as their motive, surely there are secondary motives (love, loyalty, companionship, etc.), but I suspect that the improvement in lifestyle is in most cases the primary, because all those other things can be and have been found in filipino men.

A great video, Mia... Your first point - being 'left alone' by an older partner - comes up in our relationship now and again. Other than doing the best I can to ensure my wife would be financially secure, should that happen, I wish I knew what else I can do to reduce or remove that fear for her...? Your other points, I can assure you, are not just felt by (younger) Filipinas dating, or married to, foreigners! As most Filipinas, in my experience, leave the Philippines to live with their partner generally in 'the West', I guess the being judged issue is less of a problem, although age-gap relationships will always be judged by some in society - usually out of jealousy! Your use of the word 'snake' to describe predatory Filipinas made me laugh (sorry! 😂), as in the West it is more commonly used to describe men - with various meanings!

This is important to know, but also how the foreigner would feel if he took the Filipina back to his country and all the men began making passes at her when she went shopping at the store or went somewhere for a couple of drinks with him and all the other foreigners began looking at his wife. I know it would make me angry, but if my Filipina truly loved me, as she said she did, she would tell all those other men she was married and not interested in them and then would tell her husband. I despise disrespectful people no matter their sex or what country they are from.

In the Western world, it is normal for there to be multiple moral codes. In this society, it is good for honosexual people to be married, but it is not good for us to marry young women. This is the so-called equality in the Western world. Here in German-speaking countries there was a very well-known actor who married a young woman 20 years ago, the age difference was 56 years. He died 5 years ago at the age of 101 and the wife had to endure a lot of suffering in the media, including accusations of inheritance fraud, etc. We will never get rid of the prejudices of old-man-young-woman couples and the vice. We also have to stand strong against it and ignore it.

I just seen a video where a 59 year old White man from the Southwest USA, got with a 27 year old Christian woman. She is now with child. That is a disgrace and does no good for the child to have a very old man as his /her father. Such actions and behavior are a moral disgrace. I have to make it clear to all Philippine people that I meet, "I am not here to marry young girl from Province!". I also tell them that I think such a person is being disrespectful to the Filippino people. The guy is young enough to see his children grow adult passing away, that's really what a parent should do. Also a 27 woman seems young by American standards, but in most countries she'd not get married because she is too old. Last but not least, close to every man wants children and you can't really have children with a 59 old woman, can you? Even when he'll die he'll still leave his family 10 times (or more) the money and lifestyle she'd ever be able to achieve otherwise.

It is true everywhere, that when a rich, famous etc older man is with a much younger woman, most people don't see it as a 'big deal', unless that man is none of those things. Most of the same people, would like a younger partner, if they had the chance, but because they can not, they are hypocrites. Also, if an older man gets married to a much younger woman, (usually he has more money), he SHOULD make sure that the woman and maybe future family, MUST be left with some kind of 'security', if he really loves her and if he is a decent human being. MIA, I understand how you feel, but the older men are also 'afraid' off other younger men, so they try to show off , in order to show their young wife that they are still 'desirable', by other women. Communication is very important with your partner, for any little or big fear one has, because when it is left in the dark, it will grow and can destroy a couple. It is very important for a couple to communicate with each other of what is bothering them, because 'fear/anxiety'' can destroy a couple, especially when 'friends' talk shit in secret to each one of the couple. There are many snakes out there, on both sides, especially when they see a happy couple.

That's what the guy has to deal with in Western countries. Every other guy (mostly) will stare at your wife/girlfriend right in front of you. If you get up to use the C.R. during dinner you can be sure at least 1 guy is either trying to hit on her or is getting ready to. Just take it as a compliment that others are jealous of you and let it go. You can't waste time on something that is beyond your control. You did nothing, your spouse did nothing, so in fact, nothing happened. Enjoy the fact that others wish they were you. And then have a laugh with each other about it. Then go on and enjoy your lives. Just run the numbers: divorce rates for first, second and third marriages versus inheritance and/or alimony settlement amounts for men in your husband's income bracket. That should give you a good idea of where you stand.
