3:09 Persian culture, especially the language, was the bourgeois culture in historical Iran (of course), Afghanistan, Pakistan, Northwest India, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Syria, and some part of Turkey. Persian to Western, Central and South Asia, was like how French was to Europe before English is a thing. Urdu (language of Pakistan) and by extension Hindi (language spoken in India) is influenced much by Persian. So up till the 18th century, you know Persian, you'd survive in those (vast) region. And when a language is spoken in a region, it brings along it's culture. Literature, music, philosophy, etc. And talking about music, Turkish, Arabic, Persian music, they're kinda the same as they've been influencing each other for thousands of years (well, relatively speaking, Turkish is the new kids on the block).

Spanish flamenco style guitar was influenced a lot by the Arabs who ruled Islamic Spain for 800 years. And the Arabs was influenced a lot by Persian culture. In fact the word guitarra (guitar in Spanish) is similar to qitara in Arabic. And "-tar" means string in Persian, where they name string instrumen by the number of strings an instrumen have. Indian culture on the other hand, especially the northern part, must have had some Persian influence too. Where do you think the northern Indians got their Indo-Aryan phenotype from?
