Christopher, whoever cooked those delicacies you sampled must be a newbie. Where did your Filipino friends got those? They were not even made with the correct and decent ingredients, bcoz all you tasted were sugar and coconut and the annoying stickiness of glutinous rice. And (to correct the Filipina speaking in the background) Leche Flan isn't made of just eggs (YOLKS!) and sugar: it's mostly also made with plenty of milk! Alas, you only tasted a few of the native delicacies among the Tagalog-speaking Filipinos. You should try many other various Filipino delicacies from Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. Rice-based sweets aren't the only desserts we prepare for Christmas! There's ube-halaya, tupig, puto, kutsinta, cassava cake, suman sa lihiya, moron, binagol, bucayo, biko, buco pie, mango float... and I didn't even include those I have not yet eaten!
