I was never really proud of this obsession with celebrating it as early as September. Not many Filipinos realize that the early celebration is a way to condition their minds to spend more early. Its a marketing stunt designed to take advantage of Filipinos. Hope you save and spend less my fellow Filipinos. We in the US are in a recession and it doesn’t mean you will not be affected.

Every country has their own traditions and unique cultures, if ur talking about conditioning in spending, US is number one in this economic strategy, every holiday turned to be shopping and sales related, no disrespect to US holidays, they are all well celebrated but its also used for marketing. Columbus day, july 4th, memorial, thanksgiving and a lot more. Philippines has been celebrating early Christmas season from Sept to Jan and thats been that way for a long time, it is not insane, for us its a wonderful season and makes majority of filipinos joyful. Take it or leave it.

The marketing/advertising/entertainment industry in PH pushes for its early celebration, so people can spend more. They have a different agenda. Of course, now it's a tradition to celebrate it as early as September. I think this all started in the 70s.

Mall of Asia is one of the top 10 biggest/largest malls in the world and 3 more biggest malls that are located in the Philippines is in the top 15 biggest in the world. Christmas season starts at BER months it's already embedded in our culture eversince and it has a deeper meaning to us as Filipinos that's why we celebrate it for 4 months long not like other Christian countries for us it's not only about gift giving, presents, Christ, snow, x'mas trees, Santa Claus. To us It's all about family, meeting friends old and new, the community, sharing, foods, simple gathering, help spread positive vibes to everyone and as Filipinos whatever belief/religion you are in whatever status in life to us it gives us hope and positivity in life from the bad and negative things that had happen or dealt with in previous months of the year. Also the decors and lights gives smiles and at least a bit of happiness not only for the kids but also for people who don't have that much in life .

In reality, the best mall is GREENBELT MAKATI, It's not the newest, but definitely the most picturesque, with its lush gardens plus it's adjacent to the AYALA TRIANGLE gardens with their Friday colorful skaters! MAKATI is sophisticatedly subtle and classy. Our malls in the Phils also has parks on top and churches. Familie meet in malls to attend the Sunday service and eat in one of the restos within the mall facilities.. This is where peers and friends meet to drink too.

Security in almost every establishments is normal there, so you must get used to it.. some establishments have some policies of things not allowed to bring in that's why they have that checkpoint in every entrance.. it is a preventive measures of any untoward incidents especially to a place with large crowd..

Every time i visit Manila i get claustrophobic its one of the densely populated like India. But unlike Clark City, is a lot less stressful and less traffic. It's also growing like BGC. There is newly built Stadium during the Asian Games and new condos still being developed. Baguio is one of greenest city there in Luzon, most of the vegetables comes from there and very relaxing place to hike and enjoy the cooler weather which typically mild 22-26 degrees Celsius during the daytime and not humid.

The reason why security checkpoints are all around the public places such as malls, markets, train stations, etc... it is because these crowded places are the targeted mostly by terrorist groups in the year 2000's. Though these incidents are not almost present during these times, the system was not removed and been adapted ever since then to increase security and safety of the public. Honestly, it is better to have these things than having less security at all.
