Wow! There’s so much more to learn about the other systems from the other Islands. Great to see other systems getting some spot light.

We were fortunate to meet all these instructors that day. The approach and styles are familiar and different at the same time. But anyway we can help shed some light on the other systems from different regions, that's our mission and vision.

I found it interesting you can use coffee sticks without them shattering. I live in Puerto Rico and finding rattan is hard but coffee should be easy enough to find.
@FMAPulse10 ай бұрын
Yeah, it's another alternative. Our contact in the Philippines said that due to over harvesting, rattan kind of difficult to come by. That's why the cost went up.

Appreciate the love and support, we're trying. But it's getting more difficult with the rising cost of traveling. We're hoping more people can view our content and share it with others.

Humbled that you were able to visit Guro Nate’s area in the Philippines. We can see similarities with the his figure 8 Serrada hybrid with the Piga Piga System that GM Felix teaches. And the espada y daga from GM Pastrano looks very similar as well.

We were thinking the same thing. The Eskala he talked about was all there. The footwork, the strikes and checking. On top of the other systems he taught, we can finally see where he was coming from with the Illongo style.

Super cool video! If i had known there was a fma place in Hinigaran I wouldve tried for a place there, but it's too late now since I'm moving into Bacolod city. I'm 16 years old and I have background in shotokan karate for about 7 years, I was stuck at brown belt white stripe for 2 years because my sensei didn't find me fit to move up. Now I moved to the Philippines to embrace with my culture and I reallyyyy wanna do Arnis since I'm moving to Bacolod City soon, but I'm not sure how to find a proper mentor. Do you have any tips on how a 16 yr old beginner access good mentors? I'm intimidated since it seems that fma is starting to die out in big cities. And your video brings me hope however the place u went to seems a bit far. Thank you though, i'm supes inspired :D

Sorry for the late reply. But the school in Hinigaran just opened last year. Since you're going to be in the Bacolod area, feel free to contact any of the instructors we interviewed. Their contact information should be in the description box or at the end of each video. I'm sure the teachers will help guide you to a teacher. Just mention to them that you saw there video on FMA Pulse.

Bruce Lee, Ip Man, Musashi, Ueshiba are still talked about today in China and Japan. Philippines has there own masters, and they need to be remembered too.

What is the difference between Arnis, Kali, Escrima
@FMAPulse9 ай бұрын
Region and dialect is what separates the names, but it encompasses the same meaning. It's like saying "soccer" and "football." It's still the same game just worded differently depending on the country (well only in the USA is it called soccer, the rest of the world calls it football lol!)
