What I love about Filipino martial arts is that once you learn one system whatever it is you can pretty much make up your own flows based on the strikes offensive and defensive maneuvers to create “your own system“ it is truly the essence of what JKD is all about. I studied PIKITI TIRISIA back in the 80s and I have my own Sequence of strikes which work for me

You simply cannot fake how this man moves -he’s a real master. I don’t study this particular style-I am. A Kali Illustrisimo/Insosanto Kali/ panandata life long practitioner… so I can see if a man is A master or not. And this man is definitely a master.

Love the enthusiasm in the old man's voice, besides his obvious mastery of his art. In my opinion this is the deadliest MA in the street. Specially when you consider it can also be done with a blade.

Very nice video. I’d like to have all those sticks in the background. I guess that shotgun on the stick rack is in case a stick breaks. This man is very good with his Arnis , he reminds me of my teacher 60 yrs ago. I think the community would like more videos of this man.

I agree with him that disarming is feasible only if your opponent can't use the weapon properly. Otherwise, better dodge/run or have a weapon yourself
@AcissejMilliones-ph1ly Жыл бұрын
I don't agree your saying, because why? The true martial artist is not based you know and you didn't know how to use the weapon.. Even if you know how to handle the weapon then your opponent is a master on that you will defeat.

Love Arnis but in a real ar is fight with two practitioners it is really hard to get into locks. The sticks make sure that the range is maintained. It’s brutal and involves taking and giving a whooping, including fractures as a result. The philosophy is to defang (break hands) rather than waiting for traps/locks.
@bujin54552 жыл бұрын
I think the goal is not to be in a fight with another practitioner. I prefer to be the only practitioner.
@renounhinged2 жыл бұрын
@@bujin5455 you are right, it’s well suited for the police/law enforcement scenario
@flamezombie12 жыл бұрын
What's really interesting as a HEMA practitioner is that these locks work much more often with daggers and shorter sticks because the range is harder to maintain once someone's thrown the first attack. There's a HEMA instructor here in Oklahoma, Kyle Toelle, who also does/did Arnis.
@studytime3461 Жыл бұрын
I think that the locks are included in the system just for those rare real world situations where the locks are actually doable..similar to disarms being included because you still need a concrete method to disarm some one once they are wounded or exhausted/frightened enough to actually give you a chance at succesfully pulling the weapon away..
@studytime3461 Жыл бұрын
The other use of locks is in civilian restraint or takedowns... if you walk up to an unsuspecting bar patron and use an aikido hold on him, you can drag him out pretty easily... cops,criminals, and bouncers successfully do stuff all the time that would never work in a real fight where the opponent saw it coming and intelligently resisted the attack..
@raikey21762 жыл бұрын
