I can see where you’re definitely treating the stick as the blade. This is not the “smash and crush” stick fighting I’ve seen before. This definitely has the finesse and practicality of blade work.

Sadly here in the phillipines even the main association of kali PKAF does the opposite, even if the rules states that sticks are treated as blades the practitioner still rushes and whack each other lol

This is exactly what I needed to help find my center today. Beautiful selection of music to go with it and a great reminder to get out and play.

This looks so alive, like fencing and grappling had a baby. Kali needs to be seen like this more often.

That was awesome! I’d love to hear the audio of that lesson! That looked really advanced. It’s crazy how much better you are than Tom. Tom is a beast and you make it look easy even with him. That’s crazy!

This is great. I recently found your channel (subscribed) and I must say your instructions and tutorials are fantastic. I'm fairly new to Kali as most weapon training I've done have been Kubudo weapons, but the Kali sticks I very much want to learn. I'm so glad I discovered this!

You can see in Bruce Lees JKD where the footwork stems from Fencing type of arts in this case Kali Escrima art.

Question, in a blade-on-blade fight how do you block a slash, with the sharp edge or the side of the blade?
