Used to play this a lot in P.I. for money. We played this with 4 players, each one will pick a bottle cap with a number inside and that"s your winning number. The trick is you don't let anyone know your number otherwise they will make sure it is always blocked or away from the pocket. The reason why I'm here because I'm planning to make one and found this video. Thanks for the upload, it sure brings back a lot of my childhood memories back home.

Yes we call the game bullettin. If you shoot a pitcha higher than your number get the you are basted. But if lower you will deduct the number from the number you are holding and that will be the other you will shoot.

I am now creating tutorial pinoy pool and pinoy pool tricks. My purpose is that if the beginner knows the easy ways of sinking the discs they will love the game they will continue playing it. I have a couple of quesrions I hope you can answer. How long are the cues you are using? Also could you tell me how far away the line that is marked on the playing surfsce is from the egde of the playing surface and what you used to mark the line? I love to play 8-ball but now the wife and I moved back to Thailand and the house isn't big enough for a regular pool table so I will make one such as yours. Thanks so much for the inspiration and great job on the table and video!!!
@rubenfranco14186 ай бұрын
Thank you for watching my video. The cue I used is only the commercial one you can buy from Sporting Stores. I prefer to use the junior size. Distance of the lines from the edges is one (1) inch. Use only a pencil to mark the lines , retouch only when needed, no need to use permanent marker. Also if you haven’t read my previous replies to queries about what I used for the rail, I used a 1/4 “ thick by 2 “ inches wide solid BMS steel in combination with ordinary pine wood as top surface, so it will last a lifetime.

@@Itsugo Hi ! I believe I did replied to your query about that downward slope. Have no idea why it did’t went thru. But anyway, Yes i used a router with about 1 1/2 inch diameter and a long series type. Yes I did fabricated back then a wooden rail as guide to the router attached to a router table. Because back then I used to sell these tables as an added income and need to do it fast. I can fo the routing in just a minute the whole 1.5mtr length. The router stays stationary and the base guide also stationary attached to the router table, then there is the guide that moves across the length of the material that
@rubenfranco14186 ай бұрын
The message was cut , I have no idea why maybe it is too long but anyway yo continue. The guide rail sliding on top of the stationary base guide attached to it us the material to be cut. All you have to do id push the top guide to the proper length. The hard part is how you we feed the cutting tool upwards to cut the part. Again I modified the router table to make it happen. A bit disorientating but be creative. Too bad i can’t provide you with photos. I as m sure you will think of something

This is indeed one of the best, if not the best Filipino Pool Table I've ever seen. Can you please share the dimensions of this table, and how to get or make the diskballs? Thanking you in advance for your kind and timely response. Love & Respect Tony
@rubenfranco14183 жыл бұрын
Hi Aisha HE ! Thank you for watching my video. Regards your query, the dimensions of the table are : Width - 1 mtr , Length - 1.5 mtrs. NOTE: the measurement I gave refers to the working surface or playing surface not including the top panels, in which case 100mm wide. There you can do the math. There really is no rule in how big you want the table. It’s just so happen I find the size practical to play with. For the discs 40mm diameter x 4mm thick and the cue disc 50mm diameter x 7mm thick. Material used is acryllic plastic. Height of table, same as regular billiard table or it’s up to you, your call. Hope this will be of help to you. Feel free to ask for more info, am willing to help you. Incidentally the discs I made them myself.

Hi Ruben, can you share with me how you made the discs? what's the trick in having them move smoothly without the need of powder. thanks!
@rubenfranco14184 жыл бұрын
Chris Javellana Hi Chris Thanks for watching my video. The discs are 40mm in diameter and the cue disc is 50mm in dia. I used a lathe to turn each disc to proper diameter and to be truly round. The real trick why the disc move around so smooth lies in the combination of the acryllic discs sliding on the melamine board that serves as the playing surface plus the most important of the three factors is that the discs bounces against solid steel plates wedged between the top framework of the table. So in short “ang mga picha ay hindi sa kahoy nagba-bounce kundi against solid steel. The table will last forever. The plate is 1/4” thick and about 40mm wide. Think about the AirHockey table, the table is perforated with tiny airholes and employs an airpump that cushions the discs and somehow the discs become airborne. That is the same principle I used on my pool table. If you look closely at the surface of the melamine board you will notice it is not that smooth but rather a bit rough so that some air stays in between the rough surface. I also made the bottom surface of my discs a little rough for airgaps to simulate that the discs become airborne when pushed by the cue ball and will bounce on such solid steel bounce. I did not pursue further experimentations cuz I am already satisfied with the result. If time permits I want to build another table with six pockets to play full billiards game. I hope cuz I am fully retired now and a bit lazy as well to tinker about things. I hope this will help you and if you still need some more infos, feel free to contact me the same way you connected to me via You Tube or some other media . I can’t think of some other way to do so because somehow I want to see some other guys do what I have done.....in a way I guess. Again thanks for your interest.
@chrisjavellana46454 жыл бұрын
Thanks for sharing your work. May i know what is the dimension of that board/table you made.
@rubenfranco14184 жыл бұрын
Chris Javellana Hi Chris, the board dimensions are Length is 1.5 mtrs Width is 1 mtr. Pls take note that these measurements are the actual playing surface meaning the outer or top frameworks are 100mm wide so the total dimension is L 1.700 x W 1.200. Also I forgot to give you the cue disc’s thickness which is 7.5 mm or 8mm whichever you choose. Use the junior size billiard cue stick.

Hi Shiro! Thanks for watching my video. Specifically the size of the playing surface is exactly 1mtr wide and 1.5 mtrs long. Take note it is the actual playing surface and then you have to determine the width of the outer framework. It is your choice. I would recomnend about 90 - 100 mm. Height of the table is same as regular billiard table. The discs are acryllic plastic, the que disc , your choice either 45mm or 50mm. The other discs are all 40mm dia. For your information, the rail or where the discs bounce is made of solid steel 1/4” thick, 40mm wide, wedged between the top frame and the melamine board (the whiteboard).

Sir anong banda po ginamit nyo? At paano nyo po ginawa yung disc? Thanks in advance.
@rubenfranco14184 жыл бұрын
Miko Mazon Ang banda ng table ay gawa sa steel, guaranteed to last , a bit complicated to do pero sulit ang resulta. The steel is wedged between the top wooden panel and the playing surface board. The discs ako ang gumawa by turning on the lathe each piece. Feel free to ask me more info if you wish to. Thanks for watching my video.
@mikstarrify4 жыл бұрын
Thank you sir! Ang hirap mag hanap ng disc dito sa honolulu. Sa pinas kasi gumawa kami ni papa pero fiberglass banda, wala naman kami makita na fiberglass dito kahit hardwood sana😅. Pero try namin yang steel boss. More power sainyo!🙏🤘
@rubenfranco14184 жыл бұрын
Miko Mazon Hi Miko! One more thing, the best disc material to use if you oft to use steel banda is acryllic plastic.

+Ruben Franco i see, i thought there is a standard size and all.
@rubenfranco14188 жыл бұрын
+crewcutter2030 I prefer the rectangular shape because you can have long shots whereas in a square table all your shots are the same, bit boring to play. Good size is 1 metre x l.5 metre, that is the internal dimension or the actual playing surface .
@pinoypooltrickshots40445 жыл бұрын
In playing round table when you rotate the table the is moving a little unlike in long table it is stationary. I love to play both. in square table .it easy to play because it is short distance and no need to walk to follow the mother ball. It useful if you are practicing to shoot but in long table it is somehow too difficult to shoot specially in long shots.it is good to play because you walk while you are playing .

Great work! Mukhang labour of love yan. At ang kagandahan, foldable, so hindi maaksaya sa lugar. I am considering to do a similar project, but not as grand as your one. Maybe 1 x 1 metre. Bibili ako ng kahoy sa Bunnings. But you gave me a good idea regarding the slate. Instead of buying plyboard and sanding it, pwede pala melamine particle board. Hanap nga ako sa Bunnings after this lockdown. Just want to know how to acquire the chips or pucks. May nabibili ba dito sa Australia?
@rubenfranco14183 жыл бұрын
Hi Rionald Calamina, Thanks for watching my video and the appreciation. If you choose to go 1x1 metre route, suggestion lang siguro maganda revolving table na at the same time foldable pa, panalo. Tama ang material melamine sa “ slate/ playing surface”. It is really not that smooth because the idea or the mechanics behind this build is this. If you are familiar with the air hockey game table, the pucks/pichas becomes airborne because the table is perforated with tiny holes for high pressure air to pass hence the pucks moves fast and smooth. The same principle I thought will work with our local pool table to get rid of the messy borax powder. I did a lot of experimentation then, found out putting holes is not a good idea. The next hurdle, is how can I make the pucks a bit airborne. So on again to try different ideas . Until …… It came to me if I were to use Timber or Wood para sa banda, balik na naman sa same old problem, nagchichip ang banda sa katagalan. Again try other material. This time I made some prototype pucks and the only material I have on hand is acrylic plastic and it was the material till now I sm using. Hindi nabibibli ikaw ang personal gagawa, your call sa size na gusto mo. If you will closely examine the melamine board surface, magulat ka lubak lubak ang surface nito pero flat na flat naman overall surface. So I thought , in a way para na rin ito air pocket. So I built one prototype and tested the idea. Since wala pa ako alternative material sa banda/bounce ng mesa, I used again wood and guess what? No good again so isip uli. Until I thought of using metal instead. Tried aluminium, no good, tried BMS or Bright Mild Steel, there, I hit the jackpot. But through the years since 1995 to date, within this period of time i made …………. units. I did made some money from this pool model, sort of sideline for about 10 years, so far each unit performs uniformly. I guess all ideas i put into this thing worked well as expected. So if you want yo continue to build one, open ako to help for added infos if you want. It would give me the greatest pleasure to see an idea of mine being considered by other people, nice feeling. Ty again Keep safe and God bless…

@@rubenfranco1418 wow thanks for that extensive response. I didn't expect you to go to great details. At least puno ng tips, at ng mga failed attempts mo. I am not that handy, but I will certainly try. Para lang naman sa enjoyment naming mag-ama. I had a billiard game last week with my 13yo son sa Zone Bowling arcade, And I started showing him some "Efren Bata" shots sa youtube. Then I stumbled upon sa video ng "Filo pool tables", and eventually your video. So gave me an idea to build one myself. Thanks for the tip. And I agree, making one is better the buying one. I bought a billiard table 8years ago. But it's too bulky and take a lot of space. Eventually napag-awayan namin ni misis, so had to sell it sa Gumtree, for half the price. There's a new one that is foldable - for $420+. That's tempting as well. Pero I try to build the "Filo pool table" instead. One question though, saan kaya ako makakakuha or makakabili ng "pitcha" or chips/pucks. Do you know where. I've checked ebay, but dont know what they're called. I'll start my project pagkatapos nitong pesteng lockdown. NSW is worse that us, so siguro it'll take a week or 2 pa bago mag-ease ang restriction. Thanks again for the reply and tips.

@@rionaldcalamina9996 Hi Rionald, I’m here in Melbourne. Just start doing the table and once you are there at the point you need the pucks, don’t worry I will help you all the way to have those and if possible we could communicate privately , a little something to talk about the discs/pichas.
