Almost all Filipino priests sings. They sometimes did it during homily or before ending the mass. Or during event celebrations. They sometimes conducted concerts which also includes choirs.

Oh yes! Filipino Priests can sing. When I was in college in Cebu, me and my roommates would go to church 2 hours early before the midnight mass during Christmas so we could sat closed to the Siminarians Choir.

All Priest can sing, they have training in the seminary,. Every High Mass they Sang the Gospel word before giving thier homily. So its normal for them to sing during this event. Thanks for the RV. ❤❤

In Philippine Seminaries, seminarians have singing groups. Some of these priests went on to sing during mass celebrations. Before Jesus' crucifixion, He was ordered by Roman soldiers to carry the cross to the crucifixion site.

Hello Ovela. I had my wedding May 20, 2007. The same song was sang by the priest who celebrated our wedding but so sorry we were not able to film it. Its an impromtu aswell. His name is Father John de Castro of Spousal of Mary and Joseph Parish here in Iloilo. I wish we had filmed it.

I remember when Cardinal Tagle who was Bishop in Imus ,Cavite ( Philippines) (who is now in Rome) had a concert with the semanarians and priests way back 1980's. A lot of Filipino priests did that for the wedding to know if the couple he is officiating is truly love each other. It means, in sync in everything and if the couple had shied away, that means, the couple is not ready to do something in sync... anyway, the crucifix is like that because it is on the shoulder of the statue of the black Nazarene.

Priests has to be good at singing as far as I know. Because there are High Masses that require them to do the Gregorian Chant. I agree though that this priest singing this song in a wedding is not the usual thing.
