A frustrating aspect of car culture in the Philippines is the loud revving of Civics (and other cars, though Civics are the most common) at car meet locations. This often leads to these spots being banned for car meets sadly.

JDM trucks are exempt from the law that your pals mentioned. There's a reason why there are multitudes of Fuso Super Greats, Hino Previas, and Isuzu Gigas running around in the Philippines, many of them the so-called "wing vans" and quite a few of those trucks still decked out as dekotoras!.
@honamihodoshima23325 ай бұрын
There are actually ways to bypass that ban his pals were telling him. If you've ever seen those JDM kei vans usually with newer J and K plates, there are importers in Visayas and Mindanao who import chopped up kei vans and declare them as "car parts" to get through BOC. Shops would then reassemble them as LHD and you're all good to go. Beware though, some of these kei vans have shoddy and unprofessional LHD conversions. I also remember seeing a chopped up Galant AMG being sold in FB marketplace so that really is another way to import JDM here without the BOC batting an eye.

The Revo is actually an Indonesian car known originally as the Kijang. In the Philippines, we got the Tamaraw, Revo, and Innova, while Indonesia carries the Kijang name all the way through. Sure you've noticed both in Indonesia and the Philippines how prominent the Innova is, great builds for it because it carries a stupid turbodiesel that makes it crazy fast as your family car (2.8l in the PH, 2.4l in Indonesia)

if your car is VERY rare enough to get certain eyes on you and if they actually sniff around to find out that's it's illegally imported. they will take the car, impound it and most likely crush it. happened recently to two bugatti chirons here in ph.
