I'm learning a lot from you Jeffrey. I knew that all the ridges on the Grand Canyon was from water but I never envisioned it as a big lake. It reminds me of what's going on at Lake Mead. Critical water loss at Lake Mead. Will it oneday be like the Grand Canyon?

The frog sponge holder was a very popular ceramic piece for hobbyists in the 60s. I can remember in 65 and 66 going to do ceramics with my Girl Scout troop. The two pieces that were made the most were those frogs, and a open-mouth bird toothpick holder. The frog sat by my mom’s sink for the next 50 years.

The blue plates look like what I ate off of as a child in the 50s. Our set had 3-4 different colors. The dishes may have been a give away from A&P or Grand Union with a grocery purchase.

I grew up using those plates, in fact the whole set. My mom used them as everyday dishes and bowls, and the porcelain china for special occasions.I believe my mom bought her plate and bowl set from Woolworths. Omg, I recognise the nursery rhyme plagues, had them on my wall. I remember the Jack and Jill ones and the Little Old Lady in the Shoe one. Had the pop corn popper push toy when little girl, my daughter inherited it and played with it as a little girl. The sound would get on my nerves when my daughter played with it after awhile. Lol! My grandmother had the glass pitcher you stroke, used it for her ice tea when company would visit.Thank you for bringing back some lovely memories with your finds.

My mom had several of those pixies in green in the 50s. My mom and especially my grandma born in 1905 London England were collectors of glassware. When I inherited the farm my grandma had so many collections that It took 2 years gathering all the collections and grouping them and sorting out what I wanted to keep and 2 auctioneers 2 days to empty out the house. I learned so much from my grandma. I heard you say small pieces chipped etc.doesn't matter but I was taught differently that its not acceptable.

Kraft pimento cheese came in Swanky Swigs. Look in a good price guide and you will find the only glasses classified as Swanky Swigs are the small glasses with vertical ridges around the glass. People have been calling almost any glass made during the depression with a design on it a swanky swig. I've been collecting 'real' Swanky Swigs for over forty years. I have all of the designs. Not all of the colors of each design.
