I've just rewatched Shippuden the 4th time I've noticed that we never saw all the paths of pain fighting all at once. Against Jiraiya It was practically only the animal path. Against Naruto It was practically only the animal path and Tendo alone. Like we only saw Pain using 1, 2 or 3 but never 6vs1 ya see? Imagine If Nagato used his pain ALL SIMULTANEOUSLY: Pull/Push, more than 10 summons, rockets, bombs, missiles, Gedo mazo, One man that can resuscitate the others, One paths who can take your soul just by touching you... Talking about age of rating on a Shonen Jump manga lmaoo. On paper, all Shounen Jump manga have 15+ age rating (cause Shounen manga magazines are targeted for teenage boys) but people don't really pay attention to it anyway including the authors working for said magazine. Sure, they have SOME restrictions but those restrictions are very loose and they can easily bypass it if the readers find their series interesting. To put into perspective, series like Jojo part 1-6 that had some really disturbing gore panels were released on Shounen Jump magazine too just like Naruto

I'd argue that just because a fight happened offscreen, doesn't mean it's not canon. I'd even argue that the beauty, benefit, and almost obligation of anime adaptation is to expand on things from the manga. The Temari vs Tenten fight is an easy example to hype up Temari and have Tenten briefly have a moment. Same thing for Kankuro vs Sasori at the start of Shippuden.

Then, the animal was the lone attacking pain. The others were either watching or saving Tendo's ass waiting for his power. Then when Tendo's power went back two fodders paths were remaining. So yeah, It was never in 1v6, not to mention Naruto got Katsuyu's help & advices + the entire mont Myoboku + Minato and Hinata saving.

well they do give us some story on Fuu and Utatake in the anime and killer bee gets some depth to his story in the anime as well from before he became jinchuriki. the only ones that are mysteries to us are Han who carried the five tailed kokuo, and Roshi who was carrying the four tailed Son Goku. but we do know that Roshi at the very least went rogue from the hidden stone cause he didn't agree with ohnoki about war or some such an was just travelling the roads alone before he was found by kisame an then beaten by him to which kisame claims was a challenging ordeal for him lol.

That anime fight ruined Tenten imo. All we knew was that Temari won with ease, and Ten-Ten was a weapon specialist with excelent accuracy (implied by the battlefield and by the comments of her team). Considering the nature of Team Guy, 10-10 would have complemented Guy/Lee's blunt Taijutsu and Neji's Gentle Fist to have a team full of close combat specialists; she would've been an expert with swords, shuriken, knives, kusarigama, etc; to truly be a weapon specialist and not the metal spammer we saw.

One of my favourite scenes turned out to be filler. When Jiraiya pushes Naruto off the cliff, in the anime Jiraiya has Naruto do various things because of the risk that Naruto might die, as well as some quests like to find a "melon" that looks like "this" in order for Jiraiya to agree to teach Naruto in the first place. Honestly, Naruto is the anime where you actually have to watch fillers because they expand the world and stories of characters further and make the world kinda more alive, which Kishimoto failed to do. The Guren arc, The Utakata arc etc. While yes, some might be boring at some point, it still expands the world, every anime has an arc which is boring, even if it's canon. Even the most glazed anime of all time One Piece has its boring arcs, I had to keep myself forcefully awake to go through them. So Dygo don't recommend to skip fking arcs if they are fillers, because fillers are not a bad thing ffs. When we were kids you didn't even know what fillers were and enjoyed shows

They are anime canon , the filler characters appear later , and naruto even talkes with utakata during the arc war saying they already met and the events of the filler. So the anime does a good job of keeping the filler anime canon . That kid with the kyubby powers also appear trying to visit naruto after his final fight with sasuke

i liked most of the Guren arc. the only part i didn't like was when Tsunade sent Ino and Shizune to the lake. 'cause i was like "wait, two more additional healers? really?" and so i skipped the rest of it. i kinda regret skipping the rest because i was enjoying the arc up until then. but it just felt so weird to me that it took me out of it. also, you mention a boy that was with Guren and show a picture of Sora. Sora was from the previous filler arc (also one that i enjoyed watching). the boy whom was with Guren was Yukimaru. fun embarrassing fact: i actually thought Yukimaru was a girl for like, 90% of the arc. he's kinda feminine looking and voiced by a female voice actress Laura Bailey. so when i found out he was a boy i was like "huh! what a surprise." then again, i shouldn't've been surprised really. he comes from a long line of: seasoned battle hardened killer, and young boy apprentice with weird powers. there was Zabuza & Haku, Raiga and Ranmaru, i guess Chiriku and Sora kinda also counts (but this pairing was used for villains up until this point), and then Guren & himself.

Filler to me, and what I thought the general consensus was, that it's stuff that was completely made up, and never present in the original source material in any way. Usually added to give the mangaka more time to create more chapters to adapt. So the Iruka fight at the start, Konohamaru vs Temari, the Guren arc, the ostritch ninja, mecha naruto, all the dreams during the infinite tsukuyomi, etc. What I don't consider filler are fights that are canon, and did happen in the manga, like Temari vs Tenten, but they actually animated them in the anime. That's not a fight that never happened, it was just not shown. If we're taking that, and calling it filler, then you could argue that almost any fight scene in anime is filler, since they didn't only show frames straight from the manga, and nothing else. It's a nonsensical argument to make. Is the Naruto and Sasuke fight at the end of Shippuden non-canon filler, because it added about 20 minutes of stuff not shown in the manga? No.

I'm going to make a stink about the Ten-ten Temari fight. While I understand that it was not shown in the manga, it would have been really weird to be showing all the other fight then just not animate theirs. Could it have been done better? Probably. But I think the overall pacing would have suffered more without it, giving that part a rushed and hasty feel.

Honestly don't see the hate for filler. Even mangaka themselves say it isn't that big a deal when filler is added. So what if some of these fights aren't "real"? They still happened, still animated, and still delivered epicness.

People hate anime fillers for number of reason mostly because it’s inferior and disrupts the viewers knowledge on what is actually “Canon story ”but mostly lets say they had (Epic) arc and maybe Naruto learnt new jutsu as soon as the “Manga” story picks up Naruto will never use that filler jutsu again or acknowledge anything he did because it never existed in the real story and sometimes hilariously the Manga actually goes to that location and acts like first time experience which then itself is loop hole for anime only viewers

The "A Place to Belong Arc" (Which is what I always thought the Guren arc was called) was the only filler arc I liked, and wish was cannon. I thought it had a really good underlying message. Plus, I feel like Guren would have a really cool moveset in the Ultimate Ninja Storm games and would probably be my main if she was. Her kekai genkai feels wasted as a filler character.

4:22 - just adding, Kin`s jutsu in the anime is also filler (the girl in the prelims that fight Shikamaru). She just throws one time the needles and Shikamaru wins the same way, lmao.

It would of been better if Madara was the main villain and it wasn't until a Naruto movie later on or gap between the end of the war and Boruto that the Otsusuki find out about the fruit blooming and coming to retrieve it.
