The flesh looks beautiful, like an even softer version of Monkfish. Masaru, you should try cornmeal battered fish like we eat in the U.S. South, the crunchy, mealy texture with the soft flesh is a really good combination.

Masaru: this smells of ammonia, the skin tries to kill you, there’s probably some jellyfish stingers in the stomach, and it’s impossible to filet. Also Masaru: it’s delicious! You should definitely eat some! I love how he respects everything even if it’s not his favorite!

*Fun-fact* they don't usually look swolen and ugly. They live super deep and when people fish them they pull them with such force to the surface that the pressure destroys them.

Blowfish don't move very much, but have strong jaws, so their head muscles are firmer but their body muscles are soft.

They are deep water fish and technically illegal to catch, they are usually caught accidentally. They look the way they do because they are pulled up too fast and go through rapid decompression and barotrauma which ruptures all of their cells. At depth they look like normal fish
