My favorite outdoor activity is currently walking. I drop my kids off at school, drive to the park, and walk. I love seeing the flora and fauna in the golden morning light with the dew glistening on the grass. Sometimes, there are even little tracks on the grass from different critters that disrupt the dew. I enjoy seeing the other walkers and saying, "Good morning!" I love listening to a book as I walk, so I feel doubly productive. And then I'm done and showered, ready for the day, by 9:30. It's my favorite right now! And I feel like I'll love it even more as the season starts to shift into fall.

Love reading outside. When I was able to go camping, I pent a lot o time in the bush reading and watching and listening to whatever was going on eg animals, birds the breeze in the trees. So peaceful!💖💖

As an Australian, come to Australia 😂 (then jump across the ditch to New Zealand!). Australia has lots of unique animals that would be amazing additions to your animals in clothes art! We also have such unique flora like banksia, bottlebrush, Waratah, kangaroo paw, grevillea, wattle, Sturt’s desert pea, gum nuts (just to name a few lol). Painted in your beautiful floral style I think they would look so amazing.

I don't get to do a lot of outdoor activities anymore because of mobility issues but I am currently watching your video from Croatia while on holiday (I'm from the UK) and I am loving pottering around the different towns and cities and the best part is the pool at the villa! I'm such a water baby, have always loved swimming but it's difficult because of my health and pain levels so having our own pool is amazing! Croatia (and Montenegro that we visited yesterday) are absolutely beautiful and everyone is so friendly and helpful. I'm spending a day chilling at the villa today while the family hit the beach (may do some watercolour painting/sketching) and tomorrow we're headed into Bosnia to see some beautiful waterfalls. 😊 Travelling is definitely my favourite outdoor activity! 😂

Ms Mira! I have been watching you way before the big C came around. I was looking around for paint pours but found you! A sketch book, as a 6th grade art teacher told me, is just for practice. If it's all doodles, and makes you happy, you're doing it right. Don't worry about the format, just practice.

Girl have made me regain my love for art. During school I did fine art and everything had to match/be about one subject and just flow nicely within the sketchbook and that ruined my love for art because I wasn’t doing what I wanted! Can I say how impressed I am at that paper handling the acrylic ink! You went over that long rectangle like 3-4 times and the paint was able to still move to even it out as you finished it. No paper pilling or buckling

Fun chaos art =) My favorite outdoor activity would probably be reading a good book on the porch in the sun. I get melty in full heat, so it's mostly late spring and early autumn, but sometimes on a day off I can catch the last little bit of sun when it's not so hot. =)

It used to be annoying that they kept twining through the bush, but now I find it fascinating to see how much they grow each day and twist around themselves over and over again.

If you ever want to do Australia or New Zealand, Hawaii is the perfect stop, especially with little ones. It breaks it up and from Hawaii, it's not too long a flight. It's basically the half way point. I'm in Australia and have been to Hawaii many times and also have regularly flown to the US, so I know how long the flights can be.

I like to watch sketchbook video’s on KZbin but it’s like every page must be a masterpiece for some artists... I like the fact that Mira keeps it real : experimenting with us and if anything goes wrong, then it goes wrong and it’s the point of a sketchbook: trying new things and see what happens 🙂

Love you sketchbook videos! ❤ they inspire me and at the moment of watch realise your right and it does not always need to be a master piece. As this always delays me expressing myself. My bad experience from school in art was being told my drawing was good now add water colour. However not told how to use them and then the teacher looked at what I had done and told me I had basically ruin my artwork! 😢 it was only in the last two years that I braved trying water colours for the first time since school and I'm now in my 40's. Still learning with them and by far my comfort zone, but love sharing the play with my young children, who art with abandonment ❤

Fun sketchbook ideas! I'm inspired. Regarding art instructors... there was a lot of snobbery and shaming from my art instructors in college. They'd focus on the star pupil in class and ignore the rest of us. There were silly rules such as 'I'll flunk you if you use black paint!' and the critiques were tough. I'll never forget asking one instructor for her opinion on my drawing and she wrinkled her nose in disapproval and walked away without a word(!) Brutal. That was so long ago but still stings. Hiking with my husband on nature trails in environmental parks or along the beach are my favorite outdoor activities. He can identify every plant, animal or bug we come across and give me its whole life cycle 😅 which I love. However, since it's August in sweltering Florida, I can only handle 5 minutes or less outside 🥵

@@MiraByler Oh, I'm glad her house is intact! Yes, we've had steady torrential rains and wind but no flooding near our house. Other places weren't so lucky. The hurricane threats have been so intense the last few years, we were seriously considering a move out of Florida, but so far... still here. Every place has it's share of negatives whether it's earthquakes, blizzards, tornados... so it's a tough call. I'm always glad for Nov. 30th when hurricane season ends and the heat lets up!

You said that your starting to grow roses well i just wanted to say that my dad had this one vine of a rose it was pitiful so he started putting his coffee grounds at the base of it and it just really started growing. I often had DNRSB (don't ruin sketchbook) syndrome when I was younger because, for the longest time, I didn't realize that there were sketchbooks so I got scared to mess up something more expensive than a school notebook that I then hyper-focused on anything I drew in my sketchbook being perfect, if anyone else has this then try buying a really cheap sketchbook and draw whatever you want or without thinking (doodle) then work your way up to drawing freely in any sketchbook no matter how much they cost. I would love to see a moody garden collection especially if it was caught in the rain, a storm, or maybe just a cloudy day, my favorite weather is when it's a grey cloudy day and some sunshine peaks through, and everything the light hits appears golden from it.

I just prefer sitting outside making a mess in a sketchbook or reading a big book, im pretty boring lol😝 im glad you have gotten back to using sketchbooks they way you want, that teacher was completely in the wrong with they made you feel about how you used your sketchbooks/created. there is no right or wrong way to work in a sketchbook! and NO teacher should make a student feel ashamed of how they create
