You took us all on such a wonderful little journey; how you put this all together was so relaxing and enjoyable. Your video footage was so beautiful and I felt my heart aching to be somewhere so green and moody. The accordion layout was such a great idea and the way that you told the story of your walk worked so well - thank you for sharing this, so inspirational 💕

Your videos are always so inspiring and like sitting next to a friend in art class....so so enjoyable!!! Amd oh how I miss those days! Question for you: I noticed the sheep had blue and pink marks on the top of their hind legs/rear ends. Is that an indication to who owns them? Like branding?
@monkeymintaka2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Stephanie! I’m so glad you enjoyed it. I’m not sure about the sheep, but I am assuming it’s some kind of code for when to shear them or something.

I think it's so the farmers know when a lady sheep has been ...ahem... 'visited' by a male sheep 🤭

Thanks! I liked the stone wall and the pile of stones at the end but the ones with the lines on felt a bit out of place 🤔

Wow! What a landscape! These walks are not for the fainthearted! Your memory sketchbook is fabulous. Love the colors and the layering method you chose! Were I to have completed it ( and the walks) the accordion book would be given pride of place on my coffee table…definitely NOT relegated to a shelf!!!😲

Thankyou :) I have a very nice shelf with all my sketchbooks so he won't be lonely :)

Beautiful work April! That was some walk. I loved the 3-D look that you did for the rock cairns and I loved little Martin and the image of the lamb poking her head out of the mountain. You really captured your adventure in such a beautiful way!

I'm glad you enjoyed it Michelle! We haven't been able to go on a long hike the past few weeks as we have had company every weekend, so it was nice to edit this and look back :)

Awesome sketchbook and hiking footage. I love how each scene can stand on its own and also be part of the larger piece. You nailed the pick up sticks game 😃

Glad you enjoyed it Marcy :) Martin picked his up first try 😂 I need to work on my eye-foot coordination lol

I think each little panel would work great as a print for little postcard-size pieces - you could even frame three alongside each other as a triptych - I love all the color and texture you used.

That’s a really good idea Jannah! Maybe I will look into postcards 🤔

This video was GREAT! I loved the views, the format of the video, the artwork you created. Thumbs up, 10/10 all around! PS: Remember how we were recently talking about accidentally shooting in slow motion with our new cameras? That accident actually came in handy when I included nature shots in my latest video... it looks extra gorgeous when you see bees and butterflies moving in slow motion! So lucky :D.

That's so cool harmony! Maybe I should try it with our bird feeder one morning. Today I was watching a juvinile greenfinch for about 10 minutes at our window feeder and he wasn't scared at all. It would be cool to see what I can shoot not-accidentally :)

I've been watching your videos and stream recordings non-stop this week while i prepared for a local market, and i am SO thankful for your content! Love the chill vibe and how authentic you are at all times (i hope this does not sound weird haha). The lake district is absolutely gorgeous and the sketchbook turned out beautiful. Thanks for keeping me company, looking forward to seeing more of you 🧡 Ps: You inspired me to get one of those 14 sheets of different paper in one pack so i can finally figure out how much i really hate rough paper 😂
@monkeymintaka2 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much :) I'm glad to keep you company and good luck with the market! The sample pack was a nice idea, but I already knew that I didn't like rough paper going in, so maybe I should have just started with a few smooth sheets. But it was a good experiment I guess :)

I love your sketchbooks.. now do you dissolve the crayons or leave them as thy are...thank you ♥
@monkeymintaka2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Sheree :) I normally keep them dry, unless the texture is too harsh or I put the wrong colour down, then i dissolve them and draw over.

I really enjoyed your drawing technique and the colors you chose. You live in a beautiful place. It looks so peaceful. I'm not sure if you ever mentioned it in a video if it is rude to ask, did you go to art school or are you self taught? A fan of your art :)
@monkeymintaka2 жыл бұрын
Thanks! I'm glad you are enjoying the videos. I have spoken about it in previous videos, but I am a combination of both. I did art a lot in highschool and then transitioned to graphic design and then 3D animation. I got back into traditional art a few years ago when I wanted a creative outlet away from the computer. But I think my years of design/3D also helped with learning about design and composition etc. so it all fits together :)
