I think you are an excellent teacher, you make things look easy. That's also a sign of a guy that knows what he's doing. I am also a poncho guy with a 65 and 69 gto. Right up my wheelhouse and your videos are very informative and quality is excellent. Thank you Sir.

I just popped in on my buddy's 69 Camaro restoration project. Talk about floor pan rust. I referred him to you and Louie at First Gen and let him know that you guys lead the pack and teach not lecture. Keep the good stuff coming Jon.

nice process Jon. I found on my 69, the round block to work well in that area. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you. I have a round block too. I just for some reason just don’t like it. I find almost every time I go with that long block. I even sat the round block out to use it and still didn’t bother.

The edge of that flat block will give nearly the same results as a round block if you use the right technique as you demonstrated. You can make your own custom blocks from different foam materials like the round foam used to insulate copper hvac tubing or the sheets of foam used in shipping boxes for items like flat screen tv`s and radiators. You can just cut out the size and shape you need and whats nice about these blocks is they are a little more compliant around curves and edges so they dont gouge so easily. This type of block is especially useful for contour blocking primer in final stages. Keep rolling.......

Very well said. I do like the round blocks for sanding primer but to get the shape I prefer flat for some reason.

Love the video, We noticed that the car looks like a vinyl top car, we have the two farthest holes on the trunk - can you give an idea on the measurements for the studs across the back of the trunk and then from the drip rail, the distance of the three studs on the side of the car. Would be greatly appreciated Thanks, Kelly

@VinylVillageGarage

Yes that is the plan. I feel this will be the last car I paint at home in the garage, it adds a level of difficulty but I wan to show that it can be done in your garage and still get very nice results in the end.

Question on sanding blocks, are they all the same or do you have a preferred manufacture. Starting to gather body repair supplies.
@VinylVillageGarage
@VinylVillageGarage Жыл бұрын
“Durablock”makes the ones I use. Several different sizes are available. My favorite one is the 24” block I use it the most. I believe they sell a kit reasonably priced online with assorted sizes and shapes.
