I’ll be sober 8 years in November. I used to live in San Francisco and would see Andy around sometimes. Last time I saw him was in Safeway on 16th St. We were both fucked up and now we’re both clean. Seems like yesterday. The future is unwritten

Always loved Andy’s energy. Remember how strong you both are for the ability to leave all that shit behind. That’s a strength that not everyone has ! Never been an addict but can only imagine what waking up each day clean would be like. Remember each morning the inner strength you have and don’t look back .

I was staying at a hotel in Long Beach called la pasada. There was all kinds of different people there: ex-cons, disability, schizo, etc. One day I heard someone died and I thought: it coulda been any one of those people and I wouldn’t be surprised. It was a place where people go to decide if they’re gonna live or die.. I think that’s part of what helped me decide to change. 11 years sober!!

I cherish the times I spent with Andy when I was a child, I was 9 or 10 years old when I first met him and he completely changed my life. I was even fortunate enough to meet Rick as well, I’m so proud of Andy. I’ve seen him at his worst, but even then, he was still the sweetest most caring person I’ve ever had in my life ❤️💪🏽 Love you Andy!

I’ll be 5 years sober in September after having a stroke and almost dying. I’m also relearning to skate again one of the only things I ever loved doing without drugs and alcohol.

Get a skate and a guitar. Every thing else makes me want drugs. I don't do it any more, some times I wish I did. Not the drugs but the skating. I miss that more than anything.

Brother I'm gonna be 5 years clean in September too. After 20 years of ripping and running. And since getting clean I've been able to start skating again, got a get well job at a skate shop then ended up managing it. Then met my current wife. Started playing music again and now have a decently successful local band. Had a baby. And now I'm working as a recovery coach and life is beautiful. It's wild how much things can change and how lost dreams can awaken.

Almost the same story ....I'll have four years in April. Sub Arachnoid Brain Hemorrhage 🧠 almost took me out on 9-26-2020 Barely made it. Started skating again 6 months ago....🤙

Had 10 years, went back to that life of hell during the pandemic, coming back up on 3 here next month and skating every day. Got my passion back. Super grateful. 🙏 Keep doing what you do and carry the message, homie. 🤟❤

@ The part that is hard for me is not the withdrawal, I mean that hard, but not as hard as the depression you get. I feel like really fucking empty, jus a shell ya know? That part is brutal, and I just go back. Do you have a instagram?

One month, and I will be two years sober… Tonight I saw a firetruck, and an ambulance come up to the Fifth house down from mine earlier that evening I had passed a group of young people, having a great time grilling, and chilling… I knew it was gonna be overdose and sure enough it was…. You cannot fuck around anymore. I like your videos. Thank you for keeping me alive one more day.

God bless you. Haven't used any heroin since August of 23. Used methadone for 2 years up until July 8th 24. I'm still going through withdrawals from coming off of methadone which is insane. Synthetic opioids are one of the worst things to come off of of anything. Insane long-term withdrawals.

much love andy im sure i had your board back in the day... the skater lifestyle of that era got me too and im still struggling every week to come of H and methadone and benzos and i want to live life and be happy. im so ready andy! i wish i had an emotionally safe environment to detox and some rehab time and therapy. im glad you did it. we took the wrong road thinking it was cool or something and it slowly progressed into being awful. im so glad you got well so you can tell the young skaters that they dont need drugs. thankfully for those kids its a different era for better or for worse.. certainly a healthier era and much higher level of skating. much love

I had two brothers die from heroin. It's definitely the worst drug anyone could do. I can't understand why anyone would want to waste their life on that junk. People that have a heroin problem should think of their family and friends and how much they would be missed if they were gone. You can't depend on narcan to be around to save you're life it wasn't around for my brothers. What you're doing here is good . Andy we've met at Skatopia. We talked but we never mentioned heroin and how stupid it is and how it kills people. Thanks for making this vid.

Andy Roy intentionally infects women with herpes. He bragged about it in a Big Brother interview and continues to do this to women who are too young to know about Big Brother. There are plenty of other people who can be a positive voice of recovery. This dude ain’t it.
