Oh my gosh, the first 1:24 seconds is priceless. As a teacher this has been my mantra. Unfortunately even some of my young teachers do not live this idea. Thank you Karen for your wonderful explanations!

I took lessons for many years and this method is really what you need to learn in order to play and sound like a pro. Am very happy and with this simple explanation now I understand the circle of Fifth plus the chord progression in order to play any song. I think that she is fantastic and wish that when I was learning to play she would it be my teacher. Thank You.

In the UK the circle is called the 'Circle of Fifths' because go 5 steps from C (including C) and you get to G, from the G, D, from the D, A and so on - that's going clockwise. Going anti/counter clockwise, the notes are fourths C-F = 4, F-B = 4!

I just find the spelling of the key of C wrong? It should be "C-F-G" not C-E-G? Based on previous lessons? It's confusing now, or what? I learned so much on this channel lesson. Although I'm a guitarist.

Many folks get confused by the Circle of 4ths. Not a problem, it is simply the reverse of the Circle of 5ths, so if you're using the circle as a "template", simple REVERSE what she is teaching if you're a 5ths person rather than a 4ths person.

Hello teacher, you are the only person in the world teaches "The Circle of Fifth" from the left. it is not very practical. Other than this, your classes are good.

I think she is a really good teacher, but that circle drives me nuts. It is completely counter intuitive to what happens on the Piano. You go down (left) on the keys you play flats and you go up (right) you play sharps. THAT IS WHY the circle is normally printed with the sharps right and the flats left....GAH!!!! :P I still keep finding some good information in her classes. Thank you for recording and sharing!

Ok, I'm that guy in class that never gets it. Why does C E G, D F A and so on go together? How is that determined?
@josephlopresti7571

C E G make up the C Major chord. D F A make up the D minor chord. I bet now you want to know why one is Major and the other is minor.
