He Has To DEAL With This OVERGROWN Property Every YEAR!

I found this empty lot and decided to clean it up for the neighborhood. After I finished mowing the property, one of the neighbors came out and told me if I knew the owner of the empty lot. He's been trying to get a hold of the owner for a couple years now, with no luck, and has to deal with the overgrown grass and weeds every single year. He actually has been thinking about purchasing the lot just to do at least something with it, instead of the lot overgrowing every year. I hope the owner sells the property for further improvement of the neighborhood.

I don’t know about anyone else, but I just don’t think I could live next door to that and not occasionally mow it myself! I couldn’t stand living next to such a mess. It would make my house look worse. Either that, or put up a fence. I wish people would take responsibility for their own properties but we all know they don’t. That's what people used to do when I was a kid growing up in the sixties, southern Cal. Of course I had mowed a couple lawns for neighbors in addition to my family's lawns.

We did the same when we had neighbors that wouldn't mow the large lot on their rental property. It wasn't sitting well with us leaving it feral, so we regularly mowed it along with our own yard.

It looks like this used to be a well taken care of yard with the shrubs at the back of the property maybe the owner passed away or the home had burned down or become unsafe and had to be removed but its grass is pretty thick and beautiful really. Considering other vacant lots you have done this one is quite pretty not sure what the neighbour was complaining for.

Thanks for doing what you could to make that lot/yard neat for the neighborhood. I tend to agree with one person's suggestion, of cutting up the wood and putting it to the front, and then someone who needs it can have it and it will no longer be a crisis spot in the lot area that is hard to deal with. Thank you for cleaning up as best you could the neighborhood eyesore. It looks like a park now. Well, somone needs to get that dead tree out of there, but that’s doable. In a perfect world, the city or county could mandate owners of property keep it mowed and keep property clean of garbage. The city or county could send clean up crew and charge property owner and if they don’t pay take them to court. Neighbors can find out who owns it by going to city/county look up at the recorders office. It’s a fire hazard as well as a place for people to dump trash. And that’s not good for anyone living in the neighborhood.

The wood at the back of this property was probably thrown there by one of the people who live in the area, that would be my guess. if you chopped it up and left it at the road side the city may come by and take it away come garbage day. or someone who needs firewood for a wood stove could take it and use it that way. As usual you do an outstanding job on this project and it is always done with the most utmost respect to the neighbours no mater what moods they are in and so professionally it just brings to mind Customer service and customer satisfaction knowing there is another property in your community that is safe and cleaned up. Phill. If you watch Quick Cuts c2, you should see how he cleans up yards and gets rid of all green waste, cuts bushes, trees takes away extra grass and trash. The clean ups look soooo good and you can be the first American to do the whole job for people for free. There’s so much need for it. Going above and beyond to help someone speaks volumes… unlike so many other channels that do bare minimum and don’t haul away green waste or trash. Love your content!! As to mystery owners, your city hall can tell you who is paying (or not paying) the taxes on each property. Also, the city code enforcement officer can provide a list of problem properties for your free cleanup projects.

Nice job, Fill. Another beautiful cleanup. The guy can easily find outvwho owns the property by going to his County's Real Property tax records dept. These are public records. If the property owner fails to maintain hus property, the neighbors can file a complaint with their local (Town) officials or they can also contact their Town Councilman in their locality. The squeeky wheel gets the grease.
