BS was definitely an in-spirit lovechild of Mr. Bungle and Frank Zappa Also, my first exposure to them was watching the movie Brainscan with 'Who Was in My Room Last Night?'

@@steelspike5619 awwww I see the Zappa comparison. Love it. How is Brainscan, by the way? Been curious about it for awhile

@@Filmfinds1443 It's bonkers awesome. Made during the emergence of online gaming, imagining a scenario where someone gets too immersed in the game and it becomes real...? Maybe...? I can't explain it better without tainting your expectations. It's Lawnmower Man with a MUCH less predictable ending.

My first exposure was the same song on Beavis & Butthead.

99% of what the Butts did was pure genius. Live shows pre-1995 were absolutely insane.

My dad confirmed that he did in fact see them live a few times at random rock shows in LA in the 90s and said they did in fact kick ass live

Musically, their shows in the early 2000s were top of their game...just lacked the danger of their 80s gigs.

@ the music lost a lot of edge but they had to evolve. Gibby looked bored as fuck standing next to that synth. Pure genius all around.

I love this - 90s joy! I fell into Butthole Surfers via Baz Luhrmann's Romeo & Juliet soundtrack - it had their track 'Whatever (I had a dream)' on it & it's a banger. I gave that soundtrack a massive workout. Good times.
@Filmfinds144319 күн бұрын
Them being on that soundtrack is hilarious. And you’re not the first person I’ve heard talk about how they played that soundtrack till it melted. I saw the movie once…I don’t do Romeo and Juliet (you don’t get through high school with the last name Montague without twitching when it’s mentioned). And Baz is a lot 😂

Love your analysis of the video. I grew up in Dallas where Gibbys father had a childrens TV show on local television called Mr. Peppermint. I've always thought the video has a Lee Harvey Oswald assassination vibe to it.

Around the time woman started abandoning homelife those stories became reality . All most of the kids of that day in the inner cities had was each other . It was in the small towns too just not as much in the farming communities . And one was always trying to out do the other with reckless abandon . Then entered the skaters and BMX riders doing the most insane maneuvers with the shadow of a type of death wish always looking over thier shoulder . Later parkor came into play . It was at least way better then being zombies on fentynol .
