The Denver Broncos have two of the best cornerbacks in the NFL, but their journey from college has been as close to polar opposite as possible. While they both played for the University of Kansas, Aqib Talib was a highly touted first round, while Chris Harris wasn’t even drafted nor was he even invited to the combine. In this video breakdown, I analyzed each of their skill-set and discussed how they played in the Denver Broncos’ scheme last season.
What makes both of these defenders so good is their technique in man coverage and how they use their intelligence to aggressively break up passes. This was seen in every week last season and was a big reason why they held top tier wide receivers like Julio Jones, T.Y. Hilton, and DeAndre Hopkins to under 50 receiving yards.
Overall, are Chris Harris and Aqib Talib perfect? No. Does Denver’s pass rush with Shane Ray and Von Miller help them succeed? Obviously, yes. But in my opinion, Harris and Talib negate any obvious weaknesses in this scheme and they form the best cornerback duo in the NFL.

i have a friend and they are a ref for HS football in KS. They said in HS that would probably get you a flag for holding as he was still getting physical after the 5 yd buffer zone and had some jersey. they also said that if they were the ref they would throw a flag on that in particular. so yeah you can hand check but from that shot you asked about it looked a little more physical because as long as you are past the 5 yd buffer you can't get super physical like Harris is here for HS ball. but as far as press goes you can press and jam them all you want with in the 5 yd buffer.

peace I don't think it was holding, to me it looked like he was just pushing his shoulder, but he might have grabbed some jersey

I particularly appreciate how u mentioned about "avoiding wasted steps". In a pro/elite level, the most minute difference, like number of steps, IS a FACTOR. Casual fans (like me) simply dont even think about this. Good stuff Sam!

Watch Von Miller/#58's timing at the snap just after 1:31. Holy shit, I read an article a little while ago about how fast Von is off the line, and rewatched some videos of him in the 2016 AFC championship game, but here is another amazing example. Damn

Great vid though, enjoyed the breakdown on the differing ways in which CHJ and Talib excel at what they do. Wouldn't have minded a little talk about Roby, though, who would likely be a CB1 on most teams.

We played zero coverage or single high safety looks throughout the season. Saying Talib leaves himself at risk of getting burned as a general statement has proven to be false. Gave up zero touchdowns on the season. He recovers with the best. On the Sanu play, he said Talib left himself exposed to getting burned. TJ Ward was giving him help over the top, Talib's job was to be aggressive.

If you are a corner in middle and high school like me, and you play press on the edge, if you are on there sideline listen to there coaches, they'll often give something away, for press, you'll often hear them tell there receiver how to beat the corner, every time they did this, I would easily shove the receiver out of bounds

Julian C yeah from 2012 to 2015, Seahawks unquestionably had the #1 defense. From 2016 to now, it's been between the Broncos (who were inspired by their beat down from superbowl 48 to build a great defense) and the Seahawks. Overall, the better secondary is the Seahawks due to three all pro players. The linebackers are a tie although Von Miller is a beast, so is Wagner and K.J Wright. You guys have the edge on the D Line, but even then we still have one of the best 4-3 DEs in the league in Michael Bennet and the best duo in Bennett and Avril.
@kennyhoang4088
@kennyhoang4088 7 жыл бұрын
