Breaking down Kenny Pickett’s start against the Bengals. After the game, I said that this felt like the most complete and replicable performance of his career. It wasn’t perfect but it was definitely a step forward. #Steelers #PittsburghSteelers #Pittsburgh

Me too. Any chance they could scrap that horrible screen or lateral or whatever that abomination is? That seems like it was used heavily when Ben couldn’t throw anymore. Why use it so much now, it never fools anyone

The difference in one game post Matt Canada was extremely encouraging. The points will come once Pickett and the offense gets in synch with the new offensive schemes. They instantly went from just running plays to actually running an offense.

yeah man it's sad we are wasting him right now but luckily, he's very young and hopefully the coaches realize it's worth committing to Washington and trading/dropping Pat.

Small changes can have big results. Whether it’s players executing the details, play callers sequencing a little better and taking advantage of defense’s vulnerabilities, or KP just feeling like a weight is lifted….it added up to a functioning offense, which we haven’t seen all year.

DERICK you did a great job! It’s hard getting a great quarterback, when you don’t’ get the opportunity for a high draft pick. I’ve been watching the Steelers since the 1960’s. That’s why the Steelers won a lot of playoff games then. I agree with you that Kenny doesn’t have the strongest arm. He been injured with ribs, etc. that didn’t help. I am sure at Pitt he didn’t have the greatest offense coordinators! Keep up the good work, you showed compassion today for the fans, by not beating them up. Blessings…

@@Steelers_DB*If the Steelers were to have to go play in Florida vs those Dolphins or Jags teams in the Playoffs, using essentially a “4 Safety Package” on Defense is prolly the best way to matchup vs 11 Personnel or the “Spread Passing Game” Minka, Kazee, Neal, and Thompson all on the field. Only Neal is aligned as the Off-Ball ILB. Rather it’s a Nickel or Dime look the Offense would have a hard time diagnosing the Defense based off the pre-snap look and personnel*

If KP throws the ball a split second earlier to DJ on that post route, he catches it and it is a TD. DJ still has to make the catch though.

On the second hand signal play to George, it looks like maybe Kenny pulls it down because Najee steps right infront of him? Like had he followed through he would be driving his hand right into the top of Najee's helmet

The mirrored hank concept f***ing sucks as a concept in the NFL. The flat throw is a solid decision and a 1st down if the TE doesnt hesitate going downhill. The sit to the middlefield TE is open only once the throw to the flat is in progress, so I’m not faulting the QB on this. The throw is decisive and on time the ballcarrier needs to get vertical on a posession down

On the in route to Pickens, he slashes his elbow. Causes him to miss. Got to get that elbow to zero position more consistent consistently.
@johnj.todora4128
@johnj.todora4128 9 ай бұрын
He keeps "missing" those in breaking routes because they are supposed to be X yard away and 14 freelances it. Kenny thinks he is going to be 5 yards deeper so he throws to that spot. System QB needs others to play inside the system and THAT is what they have been missing for the last few years.
@geordi49
@geordi49 9 ай бұрын
When I saw it live, I thought Pickens came up short on the route. It just looked like Pickett expected him to be in a different spot. Watching the replay, it does look like more of a miss. I often wonder if they discuss these things in the film room.

God I hate hank concept. I hate that someone there still likes it enough to call it on a 3rd n long but I get it early in the game Ig or whatever. But Kenny looked better wanna see him throw w more anticipation consistently. Also had good protection which normally is a issue for him as far as pocket movement goes. None the less, if he plays like that and builds on it that’s pretty high level QB play he’ll hit more of those and grow. But I’m not holding my breath

It’s interesting that you say that KP doesn’t have the arm strength to hit Austin (18:59) but he managed what? 35, maybe 40 air yards on the go-ball to Johnson (in stride). I personally can’t decide exactly where KP’s arm strength is. Comment?

ill try to explain which may be difficult in text but basically that throw is going to be from the far hash bc of the way they move the launch point. it's also going to have to be put on somewhat of a line bc too much air willl allow the safety to get back into position. generally speaking, go-balls (and distance in general to some degree) are not a good way to judge arm strength. the trajectory of the throw matters as do the windows they are trying to hit. that may or may not make sense but its the best I can try to explain it. thanks for the support on the channel, I do appreciate it. @@duprea

Bro i know you not narrative driving. So when on all steelers talk. I got at you and noah all season up until you left. About how kenny isnt that good hea a qb2 and yall makong excuses. I just got on the video. But i had to state rhe obvious. This game is similar to all the games after the bye last season. Your not the only one but you also will have to look at last year as well. This play isnt anytjinf different from last year when you ans noah and countless others swear kenny was a rookie and he can get better and better blah blah blah. Kenny is where he is at overall. This game is one of those flashes. Means little to people reallt watching. Idk if its because of the style of job you hold but bro. This isnt it. I have heard you cut players off at the knees with spot on information. Breaking down kenny play as if its something new is trash. Kenny hasnt improved since last year after the bye. Idk if its just people dont want to see rhe truth. But only thing is the sequence which i cant lie lead to drives but thats still means little because the points don't add up. But im throw a thumbs up. But gosh someone has to do more then say oh hes sloppy and he needs to throw right now when clearly he doesn't. Spoke my peace im out . And to say we havent seen this in a while last time we attacked the middle was worh conner i believe week 4 nothing was new about this game besides pat being the go to receiver

I’m not really sure what to make of everything you listed. Positive that most ppl have complained that I’ve been too hard on him if anything. But even in this video, you’ll notice that I pointed out several bad plays. That’s what we do on this channel. This video was about this game. Nothing else. Last year is what it is. He’s got the rest of the season to prove he’s a starter. I don’t appreciate some of slick comments but I will respond to clarify some of the stuff that you don’t really understand.
@maggiemay5221

What a weird comment. All he did was break down the tape. It’s not that serious if you think KP is a QB2 awesome. Why are you so concerned if Noah and him agree with you that you message them through the whole season.
