I second this. There are lots of PhD programs in the above mentioned areas. Big data science is really thriving in the age of clinical trials, gwas studies, proteomics, RNA seq etc

Was just about to add this but your comment was right at the top! 😂 biocomputation projects are definitely available in cancer biology. Southampton and I think QMUL have quite a strong computational focus on their cancer phds, although I don’t think they are entirely dry

I was about to suggest theoritical biochemistry, biophysics and biostatistics too... but all these need basic math and computational skill (which can be easily be acquired)... also, epidemiology ...

Bioinformatics or biomedical informatics are great for data analysis based PhD programs! Also computational biology or genetics are fields that are growing really fast that also rely heavily on data analysis!

HEY HOLLY! I saw ur workout and I thought i might be able to help a lil. So the first move u did, try keeping the weight as close as your body as you can. And get weights that are hard and difficult to lift or if your plan is to just maintain your condition.

I live in Canada, so I have hot and sunny weather in the summertime in July. However, Western Canada such as British Columbia has been scorching hot which is not normal in Western Canada in the summer since it is usually cool there.

I did a bioscience PhD, and my advice would be to not shy away from the lab. I was really nervous of the lab to start with, but there are people there to help and support you and you learn so much cool stuff. It also adds a load of variety into the PhD rather than sitting at a desk for 3-4 long years.

@@tjc4085 Yes sometimes there is a degree of repetitiveness, patience is key to being able to do a PhD. But normally there is a variety of tasks you need to do, and being in the lab means there are other people around to have fun with. Also gets you more experience for future employment.

If the weather is anything like in Germany, it is indeed not normal and caused by the jet stream going off its route! That's the reason why it's so incredible hot in Canada, too. And dangerously so in south Europe for example. And that IS based in climate change.

I’m not sure about specific programmes but you might want to look into computational neuroscience. It’s a lot of coding and the majority of lab work would be setting up animal tests that you can then analyse at home, so very little pipetting involved 😅

Hi holly I am Muskan from India. I like your videos very much. Please make a detailed video on how to study biology from first day of school to exams. Actually I am too behind in my syallabus. Due to some reasonsi was not able to attend my online classes. Out of 22 chapters our teacher has completed 5 chapters and I have just started ch 1. I am so stressed and demotivated. I have completed my lecture notes from one of my friends but my concepts are not clear. Please help on how to study. Also tell when I should make my own notes.

Relax..take a deep breath Nd if I am not wrong Ur In school..NCERT is must for u. Try time blocking - read the chapter from ncert first - I will say before u read go and look at questions first. Then come to chp , read main topics first , then subheadings and start reading line wise and at the same time underline key points, focus on diagrams. End the chp and revise key points then the topic which is not clear take help of KZbin or a good reference book. What u have to include in notes will get clear as u will see questions of the chp more.. try jotting down hard vocabulary of bio and it's definition and diagrams are must along with examples ..good luck it's not tough!
